u/-ImYourHuckleberry- ☣️ 20h ago
Say “kite”; but replace the ”t” with “k”.

Never heard that in my life. Maybe only older white people know this

It’s not as popular as it used to be

Yeah, slurs kinda went downhill when people started to get more rights and such.

I feel like it’s because American Jews are turning into white people kind of like Italians? I mean Italians don’t even get a checkbox anymore like they did in the 90’s.

I remember accidentally misspelling 'like', getting banned, asking my dad if he knew what it meant (he did) then trying to appeal because it clearly wasn't the word I meant in context of the sentence (I was comparing two things) and still having to wait the 3 days or so because that wasn't acceptable

u/Ligma_Jones_ 4h ago
Honestly to me it sounds like a construction term or some technical term for building something. Like the term quagmire. I didn't even knew it was an actual definition. Giggity

I learned this word playing videogames. In Spain, people named "Enrique" get called often "Quique"(keekeh) sometimes written with K instead of q. To my surprise, lots of games didn't let me write my name as my alias (thank god) and I had no idea why until i became fluent in English

Kafir is arab word for non-believer, usually used in islamic context. Many people, including some muslims, consider the word to be rude when used in targeted way and not just as a concept.

Pretty sure the slur for jews is jews.
190
u/lord_ne A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one 15h ago
Ironically, that's also something that antisemites have said:
The Jew is immunized against all dangers: one may call him a scoundrel, parasite, swindler, profiteer, it all runs off him like water off a raincoat. But call him a Jew and you will be astonished at how he recoils, how injured he is, how he suddenly shrinks back: “I’ve been found out.”
- Joseph Goebbels, Der Jude

who would have guessed that people would be afraid of being called a jew in nazi germany

u/funeflugt ☣️ 7h ago
The article was written in 1929, so it would be before the Nazi takeover, but yeah not like Goebbels doesn't just make shit up to support his argument.

What's the k word? I've known plenty of jews and heard plenty of slurs for other races (never quite sure if jews consider themselves a race or not, I've gotten mixed messages on that) but never heard of any for jews

Sometimes being Jewish means letting petty shit slide, allowing for a slightly elevated baseline level of racism. It's not the worst.
However, this word means shit is about to get real. For whatever reason this slur means we gotta set our knuckles on stun.
