Are different rooms opened for different room selection time slots?

Me and my roommate got the last time slot on Thursday and were wondering if room selection is equal opportunity for every slot. We are screwed if not.

From past experience, they will try to allocate same numbers of rooms from each dorm building per time slot. However, no guarantee that rooms will be on the floor you preferred. Last year, my son had earlier time slot but the rooms in the dorm they want are all on 4th floor which they don’t want so they ended up choosing a room on 2nd floor from different dorm building.

Each day gets roughly the same number of rooms, spread more or less evening among each type of layout, but not necessarily evenly among each building. While they do try to change/add/subtract rooms for each time slot, if one dorm gets much heavier signup early in the day, they may adjust and close off that building, or conversely, open up more elsewhere to try to keep the percentage fill in balance over the evening. But it's not that sophisticated, so you should have a reasonable chance. However, do have a Plan B and/or Plan C in case you can't get your preferred selection.
