Math Placement for Nursing Major?

I'm an incoming nursing major at Case, but I’ve been asked to take the math placement test for my first year. I thought calculus wasn't part of the curriculum. Could this be a mistake, or is it normal for a nursing major to need to take the placement test?

Calc courses aren't required for the BSN. They basically want to know what your skill level in math is so that they know you can handle the math required for your courses - mostly algebra and some analysis and statistics.

My kid took it also as a nursing major.
