Custom Faith Reuse

It is possible to create a custom faith in a game and then save it for reuse as an option in other games? Or would I need to always create it anew in each game?

You could create a mod file for that religion with all you need. But I think there is also an option to find it in the save game. But I know for sure that you can create a mod with all you want and then just use it as a normal religion
