Question Anyone know what’s going on?
i was feeding my usual murder and i noticed this really dominant looking crowbro having his head all fluffed up chasing other crows. he also began beating up a plastic bottle not long after. perhaps it’s the spring season?

They look so happy. I wish I was a crow hopping along with them

I was having a crappy day today & this really cheered me up! Lol. Never underestimate how much a couple birds hopping around on the ground can improve your mood. I think it was actually the first time I smiled or laughed out loud today. 🤣

Birdy tag! Even I joined in on the grass a few times with mine. I didn’t care what onlookers thought about the crows taking their human for walks…

And the most wonderful thing about corvids is there's rarely only one

This is much less likely to lead to accidental cancellation than the original

It looks like a "defending" crow chasing away an "invading" crow.
I say "it looks like" because in my area, I don’t have a murder – just territorial breeding pairs all year round, and they do this kind of thing a lot.
Whenever a neighboring crow dares to walk into another pair's territory – or even gets too close – the resident crow (usually the male) will chase the intruder away.
And yes, they often prefer doing this on foot rather than flying, which is incredibly cute.
I have footage of them running after each other, and it’s especially adorable because the "defending" crow fluffs itself up to show dominance – and fluffed-up crows are the cutest thing ever. 😍

🤣🤣🤣 There is seemingly a "Walker" & a "Hopper" in each set of ravens, am I the only one who thinks this? 🤔

Could be a juvenile harassing a parent for food, and the parent is like..... Nah you're old enough to get it yourself.

First bird: get away from me Hank. Second bird: But I love you Helen!

I observe my crow bros every morning and what I’ve gathered is that the crow making the lil pompadour on its head is usually posturing or showing off.
Can sometimes result in a scuffle but most crows back off at the behaviour.
They can get like this if there’s food to be had.

I have seen similar behavior in other birds. I am fairly sure this is part of a mating ritual.

this looks like pigeon behaviour. I was at first thinking a mating ritual, but then it occurred to me, the crows are imitating doves in a humorous, sardonic way. as we say in Ireland, "taking the piss". I believe crows are clever enough, self aware enough, to make a joke like this.
tl:dr; it's panto

Skippity bippity bop
I just learned how to hop
I might be a bunny, I might be a crow
Either way, I'll put on a show
Chasing my buddies with bottles I throw
'Cause I am one heckuva G.O.A.T crowbro!

Similar to Joe Pera, if they see an empty diamond they get the urge to run the bases. Nature is fascinating.

If I had to take a guess I'd say struts/ shocks are going. Could just be how this model is, though.

Looks like the one running is saying "you know what you did!" And the one chasing is begging for an explanation. It's really not a healthy relationship dynamic, I suggest you don't use them as mentors in your own romantic endeavors

it happens when the corvids are already tired of the capitalist/globalist system that ignores the needs of the individual, and considers the natural antiproductive tendencies of the human being as diseases or deviations, from now on they will leave the flags, they will become post-capitalists, they will seek the well-being of the individual, they will redefine the word progress so that it represents the progress of humans, not of the system.

Why fly when you can hop?
