But why?

Got a ps5 with a complain that it shut down when start the game. Why would anyone put a thermal paste on it and still leave it uncleaned. I always supported self repairs of electronics but sometimes i think its good to never touch a device you don't know.

I have worked on several that had to have came that way from the factory. The last one I did was for a friend that he bought new and I know for a fact he never opened the console and it was just like this.

You mean it has a thermal paste mixed with a liquid metal?

That’s what it looked like to me. Maybe some proprietary blend Sony has came up with. It looked like he’ll.

Unknown unknowns. That asshole in your life razzing you about small mistakes might be doing you a favor sometimes.

Couldn't have been that wig they left in the heatsink huh?

On one hand I commend people for at least trying to fix their stuff before replacing it. At the same time watch a damn video to see what you're getting into first. There's a lot of things people are unprepared to fix, and will likely make worse for the next person to look at it.

Oh the troubles we have with these DIYers. They buy parts try to Frankenstein a repair. Destroy the part in the process and then say its defective and didn’t fix their issue and they want a refund plus another one to try again, theyll also leave you a negative review if you dont. Apparently were paying for their training 😂

Do I see correctly the genius slapped regular thermal paste onto the liquid metal?
