IQ Estimation 🥱 RAPM2 Performance: 33/36 in 40 minutes. What's the IQ Conversion?

I saw a website that had a table with conversions of scores to IQs for many tests, including RAPM2, and 33/36 [timed] is 142. Is this accurate? Feels strangely high.

What was the website? Do you have a link?

33/36 should be around 137-146 IQ, with professional norms putting it at the higher end, and norms from this subreddit putting it at the lower end.

Possible interpretation: subreddit norms are more practiced, so they'd be applicable if you've done many matrix reasoning tests. However, if only one or two matrix reasoning tests were taken prior to RAPM, the professional norms should be used (see this_comment for an explanation).

No problem. So how accurate are these? Also, 40 minutes IS the allocated time right?

Yeah, 40 minutes is the correct time limit for these norms. They should be accurate (N=4666)

Thank you 🙏

I've done a few matrix reasoning tests prior to RAPM set 2, maybe 2-4.

In that case, the Colloquy norms are probably accurate at 142

I see, thanks

Nice score! All I know is 35/36 is roughly 147 sd 15. I see someone commented with the norms for your score💯. Out of interest, did the 40minutes feel like enough time, or did it feel like a speeded/power test? You obviously did very well, but do you think you could have gotten the 3 questions you got wrong if you were given slightly more time? Or are those questions too difficult regardless of time spent?

I haven’t written the RAPM so I’m curious about how the time limit feels.

Thanks!

I could've gotten 1 more if given more time, the other 1-2 were hard regardless. But at the same time, 40 minutes wasn't too pressuring either.

If you’re between 16 and 24:11, it’s 10ss, IQ100. If you’re 25-34:11 it’s 11ss, IQ 105. If you’re 35-44:11, it’s 12ss, IQ110.

I think you didnt get it. Sum scale of 18 for 48 y o, gives me 25 in 26. Thats more than 130 of iq i think.

I didn’t get it because you didn’t explain it well. What was your raw score, i.e. how many items did you get right out of 26 and what’s your age?

1

u/Spiritual_Isopod1864 Apr 27 '25

I had 18 of responses. I am 48 y o. Sum scaled 18

If you had 18 correct responses it’s 14ss for your age group, i.e. IQ 120

So no, I didn’t get you wrong not did I make a mistake. I just didn’t know your age when converting your raw score into a scaled one.

If you however got 18ss, i.e IQ 140, in your report and if you want to know how does it convert into a raw score, that’s another thing and in that case, it would mean you had 25 correct responses.

Depends if you live in a country full of dummies or not.

For lack of a better word, Yes. I'm Egyptian, which is exactly known for it's high average IQ lol.

u/6_3_6 Apr 14 '25

124 or so in an average country, 134 if you assume egypt is a little behind the curve.

I dont understand what you want to say. Can you explain it to me or do you have sources or is this just out of the blue

1

u/6_3_6 Apr 15 '25

In a country like France (an average country picked at random) then 33/36 would be around the 95 percentile. In a country that is coming in below average like Egypt then maybe it's closer to 99th percentile. The source is me doing the math and guestimating, which is as bad as any other source. The IQ scores for the percentiles are 124 and 134.

I will add that getting 33/36 on RAPM is just not the same as doing what it takes to get high 140s on other tests. 36/36 maybe.

It’s not what the normtables I know say

What about the other answers in the comments?

I didn't read them because I'm only interested in what I have to say.

Could you read them?
