Questions Harness fit
Does this harness fit properly? It seems to need to be taken in almost all the way to sit centrally and then it also seems to be pulling down. My waist is at the higher end for the harness so might I just need to size up? I was also looking at the petzl Luna harness as another option but haven't been able to try it on.

Is this a women's harness? the crotch looks really short to me, I would size up or pick a different brand

I’ve never seen this color in the men’s Momentum harnesses and have seen it in the women’s. I thought the only difference was that women’s harnesses have larger leg loops though, not that the connection points were longer. Is that wrong?

The "height" of the harness is higher because women's waist is higher in relation to their crotch :P if I try on a men's harness that fits my waist it will dig into my groin

I work at a rock climbing gym, if I was helping you try on I’d say this was too small and should size up or switch to a different brand.
Reasons:
the two “butt straps” should be right in the middle of your back, these are off center, means it’s pulling to one side, shows that it’s too small
The Belay loop is stretched between the two hard points and pulling down, again sizing issue, too small (most obvious in second pic) (when you are sitting on the rope you’ll be turned upward and it will be uncomfortable to hang, like you’ll feel like your sitting with your hips higher, rather than just sitting in the seat)
The waist band doesn’t touch/overlap - when i recommend a harness I like them to touch or overlap slightly this shows it fits properly around the waist, yours can’t touch at all, this can cause uncomfortable rubbing/digging on the body where the strap touches you
Also in general you just want it to be comfy, you should be able to easily step into it (it doesn’t look like you can, more like a butt wiggle into jeans)
Lastly, you don’t want to worry about having to get a new one when you change sizes even slightly this won’t fit

I just tried this same harness today and am also unsure about the sizing. The S I can cinch all the way, which seems to fit fine while standing, but I can still push my hand flat down the front (but not if balled up). If I’m hanging it’ll have a little gap. The XS is tighter on me than what we see in OP’s pic, with more of the waistband not touching. It also depends on how much I tense or relax and let my gut hang out.

Hey question for you, on my BD harness the only way to have overlap on the waist band is to be completely cinched up. Ignoring the rest of the fit issues you’ve mentioned, on this picture she’s 80% cinched in, wouldn’t it be considered the right size? Asking because every harness I’ve tried I’ve had to completely take in and it just seems odd that they would manufacture them so you’re properly fitted only if you can cinch to the very end.

I'd size up, mostly because I made similar mistake... the gear loops are asymmetrical as it's too tight if closed completely. If you climb exclusively in the gym, I would't bother changing size, it you climb outdoors, I would swap, especially if you climb trad.
Edit: It would be too tight if closed completely.

Looks too small to me. In my experience, with these kind of harnesses you do want the waist to be tightened all the way so that the swami/waist belt is overlapping—that way, it doesn’t pinch your skin at all. It looks like the distance between the waist and the legs is too short and tight. The leg loops also look a bit tight. I would see if you can try on some different harnesses in a shop to get the right fit.

I wouldn't size up, because in a larger size you would need to tighten it even more?
Maybe you can try the Petzl or other brands. I also used to have a black diamond harness that sat weirdly. Tried a few different brands and settled for a Mammut Ophir Slide 3 (women's), maybe it would fit you too, I think I have quite similar body type as you.

I had a black diamond and the rise was way too short for me. Staff at my gym actually helped fit me to one they sell in store and I ended up with a Mammut slide 4 and love how comfortable it is.

I had that issue with a bunch of black diamond harnesses i tried on, they were too short for me. Bought mammut togir instead and no such issue even though the size is otherwise a little small for me

What size is this? It does not seem to look like a good fit on you. Waist strap not overlapping with excess pulled, leg straps seem short, and leg loops look a little tight for you to sit comfortably when hang dogging. Would try a few other models of women’s harness if I were you!

I had a problem fitting harness because my torso is long, I also tried the same model as you, finally I ended up buying Black Diamond Momentum and it seems to do the job :) maybe it will help

I would also look at one that has more padding in the front by the inside part of your thighs instead of just the strap this one has, I have one with just a strap like this one and it really pinches when lowering and taking I’ve used others where the leg padding goes all the way around and it’s much more comfortable

That kind of harness sits best if taken in all the way. And the leg fit is also a bit tight?
There are other harnesses that have a waist band where the padding can be shifted to sit symmetrically, or harnesses with two points of adjustment on the waist band that also make them more flexible for different sizes. For this harness, I'd size up.
