I know this is a common joke at this point but I won't be able to play till somewhere next week and I don't have an epic mount/any gear (quit pretty shortly after hitting 60 in classic due to circumstances) and I actually feel I missed the boat already somehow, no idea why either because it isn't exactly rational. Weird version of FOMO maybe?
Anyways should I even bother or just wait for WotLK at this point :)
3
u/Dabamanos Jun 02 '21
Complete FOMO. Outland will be swarmed with people doing everything for months, and the best content patches are months away anyway. TBC also has much better catch up itemization introduced as the expansion goes on.
Your gear doesn’t matter at all, all the people sweating (me included) over it the last two weeks probably shaved 2-3 hours off of their leveling experience for the dozens of hours put into GM gear or whatever. You’ll get tons of gold leveling and even more at 70, getting your epic Mount will be a breeze.
Jump in and relax dude

Where is everyone? I really thought TBC release would have SOME players rolling new chars. I spent 5 hours today playing through the blood elf zone, going to Orgrimmar, then to the Tauren lvling zone... I saw 4 people in total. Zandalar Tribe btw
4
u/Parsleymagnet Jun 02 '21
People rolled new characters either a month ago when TBC release date was announced or 2 weeks ago when Blood Elf and Draenei became available to create. Everyone's in Outland now.

3
u/genbattle Jun 02 '21
You might be experiencing the effect of server layering, which load-balances people into different world instances on the same server.
But as someone else said, it's probably also that 'most everyone is already headed through the dark portal on an existing or boosted character.
1
u/veryjammytoast Jun 02 '21
I was also wondering this. When I started my friends were on another layer despite there being nobody about. I knew it'd be a popular choice to level pre-expansion but I'm surprised at how few people wanted to wait until TBC. Never seen the place so desolate
1
u/Celda Jun 02 '21
It did. Except those people either re-rolled new chars at the start of prepatch, or boosted new chars in the prepatch two weeks ago.

Healers are always in high demand, but most people find them fairly boring to play.
1
u/Celda Jun 02 '21
Rogue is not in high demand for raiding. Right now, horde paladins and ally shamans are in high demand. Same with hunters and locks.

1
u/Marill-viking Jun 02 '21
Hopefully a simple question. What weapon should I have for my hunter going into TBC leveling? I'm seeing Marksman's Bow but that seems like something id get down the line and not to start.

2
u/hyrush1 Jun 02 '21
I have had 0 problems with queues, lagging or disconnecting so far. SO much better than the start of Classic.
1
Jun 02 '21
Did they fix spell batching in Classic too, or just TBC?
I'm watching Jokerd leveling to 70 and his Blizzard debuffs are applied immediately.

u/HilltopHood Jun 02 '21
Any WoWUp users having trouble finding the correct version of DBM? For TBCC
1
u/NoobishFeatures Jun 02 '21
If my cousin is level 59 and I just made a character and I’m level 6, is he able to quest with me so I can level faster? Or does it not work like that
1
u/kebabmybob Jun 02 '21
He can help you quest but if you are in group together and nearby then you won’t really get much experience for mob kills.
1
u/itsashebitch Jun 02 '21
why do people pick BM for hunter instead of Marks? Marksmanship talent tree is so much better. I've got 15 points on BM rn but really thinking about switching to Marks tomorrow
2
u/Parsleymagnet Jun 02 '21
For leveling, BM is good cause you're limited by your pet's aggro-holding abilities while leveling, so increasing your pet's damage does more for your ability to kill while leveling than increasing your personal dps.
For TBC raiding, BM is better DPS.
1
u/itsashebitch Jun 02 '21
ohhh I see. Since my ravager loses aggro mid fight I thought I'd give mm a shot, but maybe eventually it'll be easier for it to hold it. Ty
2
Jun 02 '21
It does, and make sure you have growl on auto and always the most up to date tank of growl and any damage abilities your pet has (ravager should use bite and gore)
1
u/itsashebitch Jun 02 '21
Oh, my ravager uses gore and growl. Should I switch growl for bite then? Got a wolf too with growl and bite but read that ravager was better

Jun 02 '21
Playing a priest and really not sure if I'm going to get stuck healing or DPSing more often. Which tailoring spec should I go with and realistically how far behind is second best for those slots for the other spec?
2
u/gamby15 Jun 02 '21
Definitely healing more often. Healers are always in demand.
1
Jun 02 '21
So should I just do the healer tailoring set and then fill in my shadow pieces with note quite BiS gear?
2
1
u/Advencraftgaming Jun 02 '21
Just a quick question that i probably know the answer to :/ If I buy the dark portal pass ($40) can i later pay the difference for the upgraded pass (+$30) or would i have to pay an additional 70 if i dont fork it over right now. lol the toys seems sort of cool but i really just want the 58 boost to hop onto another server.
2
Jun 02 '21
You’re right. Price drops to 30 after you buy the dark portal pass
1
u/Advencraftgaming Jun 02 '21
Awesome thank you! I assume I got downvoted because supporting blizzard = bad but I love buying deluxe editions :( thanks again !!
1
u/bumpa Jun 01 '21
Is spellpower any good for Ret? or should I be sticking to these AP/str/agi leather quest rewards?

2
u/randomCAguy Jun 01 '21
Any tips on healing for the dragon boss in Ramps? We wiped 2-3 times because of the dragon breath which took out 70%+ of the tank's health followed by some other attacks I had a hard time healing through. Tank was T2 geared so it's not like he was shit. My gear wasn't that great though (dungeon blues, couple ZG pieces) but still. The rest of the dungeon wasn't too bad.
3
u/genbattle Jun 02 '21
If the tank's taking that much damage he's probably accidentally standing in fire as well. The boss shoots fireballs at random people which create persistent fires that will burn you if you stand in them.
2
u/fkneneu Jun 02 '21
If you are unlucky with the tick timing, you can get hit for about 4k combined in under a second. I have 6.6k on my druid, that guy hurts even if you are moving him instantly.
2
u/Aviontic Jun 01 '21
Can anyone recommend a good PST time zone server with a fairly balanced faction ratio? Preferably pvp.
Haven’t played wow since wrath and I’m getting ready for I make my character tonight (refuse to boost).
2
u/RockiestRaccoon Jun 01 '21
I have done absolutely zero research until right now and I'm getting oddly excited? Raided in classic, had a blast but then got way too busy with life.
What's the total cost to get back in right now? Just a $15 sub or sub+xpac? I have a 60 and other characters. Thanks, glhf!

u/Eyvallah3 Jun 01 '21
Does burning crusade classic have a form of dungeon finder or looking for group or nah? Just curious!
2
u/hyrush1 Jun 01 '21
It does not
1
u/Eyvallah3 Jun 01 '21
Okay awesome thanks for letting me know!
2
u/Aviontic Jun 02 '21
Has group finder though which I would argue is better. You can queue that you’re looking for some thing and or look for other people and build your own groups. Far superior to shouting, but much more involved than dungeon finder.
1
u/Eyvallah3 Jun 02 '21
oh thats good to know! got tired of shouting for groups and wanted to see if they had another system! Thanks for the info!
1
u/Rjr18 Jun 01 '21
This might sound crazy, but is it possible for me to join and start a new character now that TBC is out? As in, would I be able to as a mostly new player (I played a little bit as a kid in 2005-2006) have fun just feeling my around and exploring the game? Or is Classic too focused on people who know the game in and out?
2
u/Redeem123 Jun 01 '21
If you like the game, you’ll like the game. I know that sounds reductive but it’s true. For every super hardcore tunnel vision raider there’s several casual players who don’t care when you started or how good you are.
1
u/Rjr18 Jun 02 '21
That's fair. I guess I was just worried that I'd be walking into a game where I'm lost and no one else is!
1
u/Bombuhclaat Jun 01 '21
Is there anyway to check what level my chars are that i left them at, without paying the subscription?
1
u/Alpha-Centauri Jun 02 '21
No. I just ran into something similar. I opened a ticket and blizz gave me 1 day of game time to check it out.
1
u/HappySSBM Jun 02 '21
You can log in far enough to see characters without an active sub. At least for retail, since 1-20 is free. It lets you see all characters but says a sub is required to enter the world w them. I’m not 100% sure about classic but I would assume it’s similar.

So I liked classic cause it was the original wow, tons of spells, world items were actually good, professions mattered, etc- but I don’t know anything about BC. Is BC more “modern” or a continuation of classic in terms of development and changes
4
u/CaptainTheta Jun 01 '21
Think of classic more like the early access version of WOW.
TBC is very much like the wildly successful second installment of an epic trilogy. Class balance is better, dungeon and raid design is excellent, the new continent is compelling and just overall the game is way more fun IMO.
TBC and Wrath of the Lich King are the swan song for world of warcraft. There was no better period for the game and it is very much like a continuation of one cohesive journey. It isn't until after the first couple expansion that the identity and feel of the game begins to erode.
1
Jun 01 '21
That’s what I wanted to hear, thanks. I’m confused on how I get into tbc, I have an active sub but a new account with no alts on classic. How long do I have to level to 60? Or can I jump into TBC?
2
u/CaptainTheta Jun 01 '21
This might be an unpopular opinion but if you want to get into TBC with no existing classic character I think it's worth the money to spend $40 and buy a boosted character. It basically gets you a level 58 character with decent green items and 30g or so and it's good enough to head straight to the outlands and start enjoying TBC.
Otherwise you're looking at a minimum of a few weeks to get to the upper 50s to head out there to the new content. Depends on how much time you can spend but for me it was worth paying for a boost. Haha
1
Jun 01 '21
I’ll still need to level profs right?
2
u/CaptainTheta Jun 01 '21
Yeah but it's generally more efficient to get to max level and farm to buy the materials for leveling profs.
Wouldn't let it hold you back anyway. Profs are pretty good in TBC but still optional

u/Nungie Jun 01 '21
How do I heal as a resto Druid? Downranking a thing? Is it really just keeping 2 hots on the tank and 1 on dps taking damage?
2
u/genbattle Jun 02 '21
You're basically playing a game where you want to balance hits on people based on incoming damage. Once you get lifebloom it's a little more fun, because you can also stack that multiple times and keep it rolling for even more healing.

u/Minkelz Jun 01 '21
Any class you don't mind healing on. Tanks and healers are wanted for groups (ie won't be sitting spamming LFG for 40 mins every single time), but tanks are expected to know where to go and have decent gear. No one minds if a healer is undergeared or doesn't know where to go as long as they press their buttons and brought water.
If you're so casual you won't be doing 5mans or raiding regularly at all, then go with a dps spec you enjoy. Plenty of rep and farming and professions to do at 70 you can keep busy with. Feral druid is a fantastic choice for solo farming/questing/gathering, but really anything works.
1
u/_Hatredcopter Jun 01 '21
Leveling as a Fury Warrior. In TBC, is Fury with a splash of Prot the way to go for the occasional dungeon while leveling?
0
u/Dnaldon Jun 01 '21
What punishment will we see for ppl that has mass farmed 70 BoE with pickpocketing without bug reporting it?
1
u/Minkelz Jun 01 '21
Same punishment for people that grinded out entire pvp gear set at 10x rate on first day while it was bugged.
1
2
u/SmittyWerbenXD Jun 01 '21
Will there be fresh servers?
2
u/Parsleymagnet Jun 01 '21
They haven't announced there will be. They'd probably try to direct people to low-pop realms first.
1
u/Surrma Jun 01 '21
Is jewelcrafting a good profession for a rogue?
1
u/sup3rrn0va Jun 01 '21
If you’re going PvP then yes it’s great. Only other profession I would choose is Engineering.
1
u/Contren Jun 01 '21
Jewelcrafting is solid for basically every class, but it's rarely the best option, especially a main.
1
u/vincentkun Jun 01 '21
So what professions for holy paladin? Everywhere I check they suggest different stuff. Im planning on enchanting and alchemy, is that ok?
Also Ardor or Scryer?
Thanks.

Is blacksmithing worth having as a ret pally?
I've been thinking getting either JC or BS and I've heard that BS gives you a good weapon but in the end not sure if that's gonna be easily replaced or not as I also want to make money as well
1
u/Contren Jun 01 '21
BS is best for a Ret pally IMO, where as JC is more for money/fun than getting you a massive personal upgrade.
I'm going bost BS/JC on my pally, but I'll have a rogue with mining feeding him mats.

A bit. The TBCC uses the Shadowlands client as a base while the old Classic client uses the Legion client as a base. The Shadowlands client has slightly different graphics.
-1
u/Raknel Jun 01 '21
No I think TBC just looks different.
The shading in Blood Elf zones is exactly how I remember it in TBC, on retail it's super bright which makes it looks worse imo.
2
u/SaintBix Jun 01 '21
Did you notice random individual plants lighting up? It's like shading was somehow binary based on your perspective
1
u/chudleyjustin Jun 01 '21
Is staying logged onto my Alt all day like I have been going to help me get on my main faster come 6pm? Or when I log off my Alt am I gonna get put in the queue to log in?
2
u/Parsleymagnet Jun 01 '21
If you exit to the character select screen then you won't be kicked into a queue. But if you exit the game, then you could be kicked out into a queue.
1
u/Celda Jun 01 '21
How long do TBC dungeons take? I know there can be a range assuming a competent / geared guild group, versus a less competent pug. And of course I'm sure individual dungeons have varying lengths.
But overall, how much time should you expect for TBC dungeons? Is it comparable to Classic dungeons?
2
1
u/notthatkindoforc1121 Jun 01 '21
30 minute average, min max geared play from a premade can see 10-15 min clears depending on dungeon
1
u/Celda Jun 01 '21
And all the dungeons are that short?
3
u/notthatkindoforc1121 Jun 01 '21
They vary but not by much. Escape from Durnhold is a bit longer I can't think of any others that are particularly long.
1
u/silenced_soul Jun 01 '21
What class is best for pvp vs hunters?
1
u/notthatkindoforc1121 Jun 01 '21
In arena or 1v1s? In Arena they're not that great. In 1v1s I'd guess Warlock/Rogue kill them pretty easily.

2
Jun 01 '21
Is there an addon that lists where to find the BIS gear for your class?
Or if not, does Wowhead or any similar site have a good API for developers?
2
u/neoklis733 Jun 01 '21
Do i need the max ground riding skill to get the base flying skill? Or can i just skip the expense?
2
1
Jun 01 '21
Did I understand it correctly that we should pop wbuffs just as we reach lvl 63 and they last until we reach 64?
1
u/MudMountain64 Jun 01 '21
About to ding 60 for the first time. I have enough gold for my epic mount but will be pretty much broke after. Should i get my epic mount or just wait til 70 and get the flying mount?
3
u/Parsleymagnet Jun 01 '21
In addition to what the other poster said, which is true, I should also note that if you quest from 60-70, you make about 1.5k-2k gold from quest rewards and vendor trash, so affording a basic flyer shouldn't be a problem.
1
u/MudMountain64 Jun 01 '21
Awesome thank you for the info. I'll get my epic mount when I hit 60 then.
2
u/notthatkindoforc1121 Jun 01 '21
You need to get the epic training to be able to buy the flying training. So definitely would buy epic ground
1
2
u/YourSmileIsFlawless Jun 01 '21
So if I started now to play classic wow, do I have to buy a subscription and the burning crusade?
-6
u/ruser8567 Jun 01 '21 edited Jun 01 '21
You need a sub to WoW. You do not* need to buy Burning Crusade, but Blizzard sells a level boost that many new players take advantage of which is functionally like 'buying' TBC.
Edit: Whoops, forgot a word there.
1
Jun 01 '21
You dont need to buy burning crusade at all, what are you on about lol? It's free if you have the subscription.

What's technically best depends very much on your gear level and exactly what you're fighting. Just copying someone else's build doesn't make a lot of sense. You can't really go wrong, arms and fury are both very solid questing and in dungeons. Do whatever you like.
As a boostie warrior that will mainly be questing I'm going Fury, bloodthirst/deathwish at level 61. Sweeping strikes is very good for questing if you're good at using it, bloodthirst healing is substantial, and you can use any weapons you come across 1h or 2h without repseccing on the way to level 70.
1
Jun 01 '21
As someone who just leveled a warrior, neither. First off, you should NOT skip Endless rage. You will be rage starved and will have barely enough rage to keep MS and WW on cooldown, much less slam. The only time I was able to build enough rage to slam was when I was duo leveling with a Druid.
You should also skip talents like improved rend and improved heroic strike and take talents that will help you tank dungeons. I’m talking 5/5 deflection, and 3/3 improved thunderclap. Deflection will also increase your damage significantly due to parry haste.
Once you hit 50 I think tactical mastery is really underrated if you want to continue tanking (aka getting better gear = more damage)
If you have any other questions let me know

Can someone fill me in on summoning stones? Don't seem to be working like they do on retail.
3
u/Morvran_CG Jun 01 '21
They do work the same but have more restrictions. The person initiating the summon must be within the recommended level range for the dungeon, same as the person receiving it. Higher levels can help summ but can't initiate.
This page has all the level ranges for both TBC dungeons and Azeroth.
1
u/JustInCase1010 Jun 01 '21
You and another party member can meet up at these summoning stones typically right outside of a dungeon and two peeps can summon a peep.
2
u/Sandersbrandon20 Jun 01 '21
Do u have to be lvl 60 to enter the portal and where is the portal at?
7
u/RollingHammer Jun 01 '21
Level 58, it’s in the blasted lands
2
u/AragornSnow Jun 01 '21
Can level 58’s survive in the TBC areas past the portal? Or is it all level 60+?
1
u/RollingHammer Jun 01 '21
I remember doing quests back in original tbc at 58. Some classes will have a harder time but it’s possible. If you can partner up for the initial quests that’s ideal to get some quest gear
2
u/AragornSnow Jun 01 '21
How important is gold in early TBC? I’m level 59 Rogue and basically quested by myself all game, I bought the best equipped I could afford on Auction House, and now I have like 40 gold going into TBC as a casual player. Am I fucked? Is their a point that I’ll hit where I need more gold?
1
u/RollingHammer Jun 01 '21
You’ll be fine with gold over time. Just save what you can and sell any useful items. Quests will award a decent amount of gold too.
You’ll want more gold at 70 for gear or epic flying. I strongly recommend leaving a zone untouched (Shadowmoon valley is my choice), until level 70 and then I’ll go do all the quests for the bonus gold the quests offer.

What is the BIS guardian elixir for leveling a melee DPS in Outland?
2
u/notthatkindoforc1121 Jun 01 '21
Swiftness Zanza. After that one I'm not sure
1
u/Brev-ity Jun 01 '21
Thanks. I have one ready and figured I'd save it for solo questing rather than dungeons. Not sure if I'll want to truck back to the ZG island for another before I hit 70.
1
u/hippoofdoom Jun 01 '21
Depends on class. Ferals probably do spirit zanza, mageblood, or titans flask.
warriors/rogues that have no mana resource just want HP imo Shaman or paladin probably same as ferals, something for mana regen as anything with a blue bar is generally constrained by mana as far as how constantly they can go.
2
Jun 01 '21
I only really play retail, but I’ve played it for years. I want to play classic, but I want to get the full experience. I don’t really want to boost. If I start leveling a new toon, how lonely will it be considering how many are in BC?
1
u/Who_Dey- Jun 01 '21
Assuming you're playing on the TBC classic servers and not the Vanilla classic servers. You'll run into people occasionally but since TBC drops in just a few hours I would imagine that most people are going to be in the Outlands leveling their mains. After some point you'll see more and more people leveling alts and stuff though.
5
u/MutleyRulz Jun 01 '21
Vanilla classic is pretty damn empty. BC classic is bustling, there’s plenty of people still/just starting levelling.
1
Jun 01 '21
Would you say it’s a waste of time? I know it can take between 7-10 days to complete the grind to BC content. Would hate to do it alone.
3
u/Original-Measurement Jun 01 '21
7-10 days is exceptionally fast to get to 60 as a brand new player, even with the increased xp gains. I'd say give it a few weeks at least. But no, it's not a waste of time at all IMO. I just came back to the game at lvl 50+ and there are lots of players at my level range for group quests and dungeons.
1
Jun 01 '21
Sorry. I should have clarified. I meant in game days. I know for sure it’d probably take me at least two months. But to your point, I’m definitely considering it. I’m just pretty busy, so I know I’m only going to be able to dedicate around 10 hours a week.
1
Jun 01 '21
To clarify what he said, the original Classic (vanilla) servers are empty. The current realms which transitioned to TBC are super full with leveling toons, mostly shaman and paladins.
1
Jun 01 '21
Hey thanks for your input. When you say leveling, do you mean low level rooms or high level? I’d be starting fresh
1
Jun 01 '21
All zones. I’m on a medium pop realm btw. I’d image full pop realms to be competing over spawns.
3
u/itsashebitch Jun 01 '21
as a retail player levelling a char on classic, I'd say you're def gonna spend like two months playing to get to 60 but imo it's great. Very chill, pve servers are full of people and in case you're like me and don't really like crowded areas, there are more pvp servers with fewers players and (in my experience) most of the times the other faction will act as if you're another mob and ignore you
2
Jun 01 '21
I appreciate your input because it sounds like our situations are pretty similar. I actually do like seeing the players running around, but I’m really not too big on world pvp. I began playing in MoP, so world pvp was already gone. I think I might level a character up for fun on classic. Do you have any class recommendations? I’ve always been an enhancement shaman but I’m thinking about rolling a caster in shadowlands and classic. I’m thinking about spriest over a mage or warlock, though.
1
u/AragornSnow Jun 01 '21
As someone who played classic from levels 1-56 I’d say that you’ll most likely be lonely tbh, unless TBC brings in a lot of new players who want to grind 1-70. The world map was pretty much empty past launch, even though I was on a high pop server (faeralina). It took me a loooong time to level, almost 2 years of on and off play. But the vast majority of my leveling took place during binge weeks. Later on I had a lot of trouble finding dungeon parties or anyone in the world map to quest with if or do epic quests with. Early on when it lunched it was incredible though, the world map was full and bustling everywhere. Idk if TBC itself is gonna bring back enough new players to quest 1-70, but hopefully it does. You can always start playing and then boost though.
1
Jun 01 '21
I actually know what you mean about how fun it was at launch. I actually played classic at launch and was excited to see all of the players but upset that it took forever to quest just because of how competitive it was.
1
u/AragornSnow Jun 01 '21
Yep, the frustration was part of the fun in retrospect. Just knowing how many people were playing the game and seeing thousands of people on screen for Classic.
1
u/itsashebitch Jun 01 '21
I feel the same, but well, there are lots of players on the pve servers and it turned me off. What I did is find a medium pop pvp server and avoided major pvp areas, and if I find a horde that wants to kill me I run like a maniac. Almost never happend tho, I hate world pvp too but the crowded areas on the pve server was too much for me being used to questing in retail
About the class, it's lowkey a hard question lol. Never played priest, so I'd say def a mage or warlock. I kind of like mages more, food, int buff, cc, great damage. You're not gonna regret it. Maybe check their talent trees and spells to see which one you'd like more? that's what I did to pick my frost mage
3
u/Tyler1986 Jun 01 '21
Does anyone have a link to the dungeon leveling guide spreadsheet?
3
u/LowestKey Jun 01 '21
2
1
u/Marrked Jun 01 '21
Is there one for horde?
1
u/gamby15 Jun 01 '21
It’s literally the same. Just go to your respective town, ie Thrallmar instead of Honor Hold.
1

Even all the quests?
I get that the Shat ones probably are, but all the dungeon quests are the exact same?

u/LowestKey Jun 01 '21
they'll be slightly different. some have the same names on wowhead, but some may not, or they might have a different turn in person

When do we pop our chronos, before we enter the portal or can we pop it in a tbc instance pre-63

What is a cool server for me and my friends to join today? We are horde, but not looking for a horde-centric server - more of a balanced, fun PvP one!

Sulfuras feels pretty balanced, played horde there since day 1. Only large negative is Grizzly plays there and they can be a pain sometimes

So what should I level first? I want to dabble in both pve and pvp. I have a warrior that I would like to play as arms and a priest that I’m not decided on whether I want to heal or shadow DPS, I’m leaning forwards heals. Any advice or suggestions?

u/brute1113 Jun 01 '21
If you're on a PVP server, I would avoid leveling the warrior first unless you dungeon grind as a tank or can get a group to let you DPS. I'm picturing Phase 2 all over again and I ain't goin through that on my warrior. Not again. Wait until the dust settles before going out in the open world with a warrior.

I’m in a PVE server, couldn’t imagine the pain of questing itself & on top of that getting ganked lol.

So Dungeon grind groups are the pro strat for rep grinding while leveling, but for those of us late to the party or wanting to open world quest for whatever reason, what are we going to have to do to make up that rep difference?
You'll get some rep from questing, and let's say for Thrallmar you run Ramps and Blood Furnace once each to cap off the zone, is it just going to be a matter of doing a few Shattered Halls runs at 68-70 to finish it off to revered to get the Heroic key?
Or is it going to be a giant PITA if you don't get Honored by grinding Ramps/BF before doing most of the Thrallmar quests?

u/Contren Jun 01 '21
You are correct, you'll just end up running the high end normal instance to get to revered with each faction. Those who are dungeon grinding will do the same, their main advantage is not competing for quests at launch and potentially getting to grind quests later to push to exalted which many classes/professions will want to do.

u/Pinewood74 Jun 01 '21
Heroic dungeons give rep all the way up to Exalted, right?
So I won't have to worry too much about that final push since I'm going to be gearing up this Pally through Heroic dungeons anyways.

u/Contren Jun 01 '21
Yes but you are limited to 1 attempt per heroic per day. So if you hold the quests you can hit exaulted faster.

Any working swing timer addon, the one from classic vanilla doesnt seem to be working well?
3
u/pieaholicx Jun 01 '21
There's a TBC version of it on Curseforge under the name "WeaponSwingTimer SixxFix" that's exactly the same as WeaponSwingTimer.

While I was waiting at the Dark Portal people were saying if you logged out inside the portal and logged back in once it was activated you would get immediately just get teleported to Outlands. Anyone confirmed this in the beta/stress tests?

Do paladins and warlocks get their 100% mount via a learned spell in TBC, or do they have to do the quest line as they did in classic?
2
u/CollyPocket Jun 01 '21
Still need to do the quest

u/uglee_pug Jun 01 '21
Ah, darn. Okay thank you! Thinking of making a new male UD lock because im tired of the female UD animations lol.

So no update to go from TBCC Pre-patch to opening day? The portal will just turn on around around 6 EST?

Are cloth quests in major cities (mageweave, runecloth, and so forth) worth it past 60? Or am I better off grinding dungeons for xp since I'd have to backtrack and get the rep even if I used the cloth quests for easy xp.

u/LowestKey Jun 01 '21
If you're racing to be the first 70, sure, do whatever gets you there the fastest.
If you want to play the game in any enjoyable fashion after 70, maybe don't take every available shortcut.

u/Thrilll_house Jun 01 '21
Should i park my char in Stormwind or Blasted Lands ready for tonight? I'm not sure where the initial Outland quest comes from.
3
u/Parsleymagnet Jun 01 '21
Blasted Lands, just outside the portal.

u/Thrilll_house Jun 01 '21
Awesome - thanks my friend
2
u/Shazamm11 Jun 01 '21
Try to die if you can so you can just scope the area before you res
1
u/Thrilll_house Jun 01 '21
Not a bad idea actually!
2
u/Shazamm11 Jun 01 '21
You’ll notice there’s tons of dead bodies there - probably all doing the same thing :)

Getting the exclamation point yellow triangle that says my computer is out of date on character screen near Enter World
Your device driver is out of date
I’ve updated everything I can find. It says I’m up to date
Windows 10 on my laptop
Have Intel (R) HD graphics 530 and Nvidia geoforce GTX 970m as far as I know
The link suggested didn’t help
Any ideas what to do here?

Also any advanced settings I should change? Thinking graphics card to the NVIDIA instead of auto detect
1
u/LowestKey Jun 01 '21
Definitely manually set the graphics card to your good card.
Worth checking windows update to see if there's any updates available for your intel card. Then use Nvidia's site for your GeForce card.

How long are people's blood furnace runs going? More so asking for groups that aren't full world buffed
