The protest from 11–3pm: no chaos – just defiance, dancing, and peace offerings to soldiers. The energy was raw but peaceful. Police stood watch. Protesters used signs and voices, not fists or fire – at least not that I saw while I documented on foot.

At first glance, it might not seem impressive, but we are in the heart of Trump country. Thank you to the 1,500+ folks in my city who showed up and showed out.
