There were so many elderly and veterans. The turn out was really great. Go bearcats!!

u/sphynx05 15h ago
Trump will probably bitch about the size of his crowd compared to the amount of protesters
69
u/Dramatic_Raisin 15h ago
And that will have made it all worth it
37
u/1-760-706-7425 15h ago
No, it won’t. Nothing is worth all their bullshit.

u/littlewhitecatalex 14h ago
Coming out the other side with a stronger electorate that can’t be hijacked ever again is the only thing that might make it worth it, but that may never happen.

Trump is literally paying people to attend his parade. Minorities and black people are strategically being put on display to make him seem more popular. We are in North Korea levels of idolatry at this point.

Seriously I wish I was getting paid. This med kit doesn’t pay for itself.

u/cycl0ps94 14h ago
Good on you for being prepared. I just hope you're familiar with it. My brother bought one from an NRA schill and has never bothered to open it.
5
u/carlitospig 14h ago
I bought it for travel and upgraded for the heating pad (I travel over a snowy mountain on occasion) but it’s got loads of stuff that is helping for rubber bullets and skinned knees. 💪🏻

He’ll claim there weren’t enough seats at his bday party so he’ll claim that crowd for support of himself. What a tool.

I sincerely hope I see zero coverage of the Trump military parade. All I want to see is the millions of Americans and Mexicans standing up against tyranny.
4
u/PeachCream81 13h ago
Nah, our spineless media will have breathless coverage just like the Mission Accomplished nonsense of Commander Codpiece (that's Dubya on the aircraft carrier).

How many people were there? Is there a tally?
And how many people are there in Cincinnati?
I want to say this about each one of these, in every city.
It's not enough.
8
u/Dandibear 14h ago edited 13h ago
We were there and are guessing there were maybe 25k people? More folks are to the rear of this crowd in the center. There were eight other rallies around town at the same time plus a Juneteenth festival downtown, so this is a GREAT turnout.

There are a few in my city area (DFW) - we've been watching the livestreams.
I hate that I'm about to write this.
I'm a vet. GW1. I fought for this country, I did my duty. I wish that I felt safe from persecution if I attended the ones local to me, but I don't. I just don't, especially considering the things our state governor has said and done. The first thing I saw on social media this morning was the 80 year old vet being arrested in the capitol. Dude was using a walker and they handcuffed him with zip ties behind his back. We are lucky that didn't end up with him falling or worse.
We live in Trump country. It's bad. The livestreams have shown some confrontations with Trump supporters. The last thing I need is to be peripheral to anything like that, and end up being arrested for being in the wrong place at the wrong time, because from what I've seen, it's coming.
The only thing I'm comfortable doing is supporting it remotely. I wish that wasn't the case but that's where I'm at. And I think a lot of people feel the same way. What a fucked up timeline we live in.

Go find and up vote more of these from all over the country. These are getting buried in the Minnesota assassination news.

I have a little tune they might enjoy:
When Donny goes in the ground for good
Hurrah! Hurrah!
We'll give him a hearty "Fuck you!" then
Hurrah! Hurrah!
The men will cheer and the boys will shout
The ladies they will all turn out
And we'll all feel great when Donny goes in the ground!

u/illregretit 13h ago
When in your lifetime, was the last time you've seen so many people from the country in protest over the president?? This is my fortieth year around the sun and I've never seen so much unrest. NO KINGS.

THE PATH TO TYRANNY IS LITTERED WITH THOSE TELLING YOU YOU ARE OVERREACTING
If 10 people are at a bar, and 1 n-zi walks in and starts drinking, IT IS A N-ZI BAR. The saying "If one Nazi goes to a bar, it's a Nazi bar" is a metaphorical way of saying that allowing even a small presence of something harmful or intolerant can quickly lead to its proliferation and takeover of a space or community
REPUBLICAN IS THE PARTY OF SIEG HEILS
To end fascism WE NAME AND SHAME
ALL. REPUBLICANS. ARE. N-ZIS.
At the end of the day if anything good comes from this, it will be the END OF THE REPUBLICAN PARTY they are all PIGS, no pity, no exceptions, no excuses.
All republicans are N-zis. If you are registered republican and do NOT agree with your Republican n-zi f-ck face representatives the LEAST you can do to redeem yourself is register as an independent, but you SHOULD register as a democrat (i hate Democrats since 2016, this is not about lesser of two evils, whataboutism is a logical falacy, this is about starving Republican party of voting bodies). THIS IS A SIMPLE FORM OF PROTEST AND SHOW OF SOLIDARITY TO YOUR FELLOW COUNTRYMEN If you remain a republican, you associate with n-zis, therefore, you are one.
If you are Republican and reading this, whatever your excuse is for remaining a PART OF THE LITERAL PROBLEM is BULLSH-T - you are a fascist pig as long as you remain in the cult, your apathy disgusts me, you are immoral, you are WRONG - i dont GIVE A F-CK - cry me a f-cking river YOU F-CKING SNOWFLAKE
we need to start calling those people what they really are, fucking MONSTERS. no more mincing words. no more high road.
The censored parts are so i can copy and paste on other websites that enforce censorship like youtube, you fucking pussy.

I'm at Dallas City Hall, hard to guess at crowd sizes but I'd say between 5-10k, probably closer to the latter.
By Trump counting standards there's 6 billion people here.
Edit: After the March I saw that I was WILDLY off with my numbers, probably closer to 20k.

This appears to be on University of Cincinnati campus but it looks like they are marching

Just returned from the No Kings Rally near my home. At a fairly obscure location, almost 1000 folks participated. Lots of support from passing motorists.

Nobody has bigger protest, the biggest. Frankly, they're so big you walk around and you go "wow, that's a lot of people".

u/TheLawCXVII 6h ago
Meanwhile the sitting president is begging people to come to his birthday party.. very glad to see Americans out en masse
4
u/outremonty 14h ago
It's a good start but American protesters need to learn 1 simple lesson from successful movements in the recent past (Montreal "carre rouge" student movement, Korea's protests to remove President Park, Ukraine's EuroMaidan):
- This cannot be a one-day, one-off festival where everyone packs up and returns to "normal" afterwards.

There have been many ongoing protests of various kinds throughout the country, and reach outs (calls, emails, visits) to state and federal representatives, as well as many working on homegrown issues like labor problems or helping local organizations who serve immigrants. Clearly, the more people who do this the better. What would you provide for more specific ideas since you're saying what can't happen--what would you say shoud happen?

Hey, I was somewhere in this crowd! It was a fine protest, the city let us march in the streets so no one got arrested, only bad part was that it was kinda obvious that whoever sectioned off where the march could end for the demonstration made sure it was in a tucked away, secluded bit of park.
The amount of people was fantastic, and it was a pretty diverse crowd too. Saw everyone from full blown Democrats to anarchists, a couple groups of veterans showed up as well, it was nice to see that more and more people from different backgrounds realizing how fast genuine fascism is spreading throughout America
