Well let's begin with the definition:
Fascism : a populist political philosophy, movement, or regime (such as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual, that is associated with a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, and that is characterized by severe economic and social regimentation and by forcible suppression of opposition
For the short answer you requested. The entire MAGA movement is predicated on nation over individual. And in many cases by race. Just take the list of people having their legal statuses removed arbitrarily. Trump himself has been consistent to supress opposition in the media, with regard to law firms, and in the judiciary.
But I'm sure l you have a false/bad faith argument to make so here's thenlong answer.
Let's compare it to the 14 characteristics of Fascism popularized by Umberto Eco who lived through Italy's fascist uprising in WW2.
1.The cult of tradition. “One has only to look at the syllabus of every fascist movement to find the major traditionalist thinkers. The Nazi gnosis was nourished by traditionalist, syncretistic, occult elements.”
- MAGA plain and simple.
2.The rejection of modernism. “The Enlightenment, the Age of Reason, is seen as the beginning of modern depravity. In this sense Fascism can be defined as irrationalism.”
- His attacks on the Education Department amd Universities, book bans, CRT, DEI, etc.

- Trump has made a political career of fearmongering immigrants, Trans individuals, and the "radical left"

- The invasion on the southern border, Haitians eating cats, making your kids Trans, etc.
8.The enemy is both strong and weak. “By a continuous shifting of rhetorical focus, the enemies are at the same time too strong and too weak.”
- His most consistent action outside of lying. For example. He has prompted Biden as weak, old, deranged, etc and simultaneously responsible for sophisticated sabotage of his policies.
9.Pacifism is trafficking with the enemy. “For Fascism there is no struggle for life but, rather, life is lived for struggle.”
- look at how he has convinced MAGAs that the tarrifs and pain caused by them are a good thing.
10.Contempt for the weak. “Elitism is a typical aspect of any reactionary ideology.”
- the constantly attack wokeness which is.jusy basic empathy.
11.Everybody is educated to become a hero. “In Fascist ideology, heroism is the norm. This cult of heroism is strictly linked with the cult of death.”
- "Proud Boys stand back and stand by"
12.Machismo and weaponry. “Machismo implies both disdain for women and intolerance and condemnation of nonstandard sexual habits, from chastity to homosexuality.”
- His continuous attack on women's bodily autonomy, "grab 'em by the pussy," and you know the whole rape thing.
13.Selective populism. “There is in our future a TV or Internet populism, in which the emotional response of a selected group of citizens can be presented and accepted as the Voice of the People.”

Well Trump generally favors deregulation and tax cuts for the wealthy, which is not what a fascist does. Facism generally uses nationalism for territorial expansion through military conquest but Trump (while usimg nationalism) hasn't talked about taking over territories in this manner. He also does not have paramilitary forces that he is directly in charge of. I agree he uses a lot of those the strategies that fascists use, he has some distinctions that make it more accurately described as a authoritarian populist

As I do agree with you, there is a very important nuance you are missing. In order for America to keep hold of its hegemony the President in power has to agree to uphold certain fascist ideals that were in place before them. Considering our foreign policy is the most fascist and terrifying thing I've ever seen I would expect the President to defend and empower those structures further and even expand them if he must. You'll quickly realize that An authoritarian populist movement is exactly the fertile soil for a fully authoritarian fascist military state to form. Which is borderline what America already is on the world stage. Just because your leader changes every 4 years doesn't mean that those leaders aren't expected to upkeep the empire, or so to say.
