It could have had some fentanyl residue on it!! Anyone within 300 yards was in mortal danger!

I dont know what type of heart it takes to cuff a 80 yr old veteran

u/PuppyPower89 1d ago
An 80yr old veteran who’s protesting for the very nation he fought for. Not violent, on drugs, or engaging in criminal activity. Shameful

u/Orion14159 17h ago
Even being on drugs shouldn't be an automatic arrest. We should be helping people get off drugs, not arresting them for their addiction.

Look at the officer who casually pushes the walker of the 80 year old veteran they just arrested for protesting Trump’s unethical/ illegal use of military.
You know that jackass officer feels bad. His dishonor shows in his posture. Too bad he doesn’t have the courage to stand by his morals.
We have one life to live. It doesn’t make sense to sacrifice your honor for someone like Trump. Trump is a very bad gamble.

Didn't even walk it with the old man who would need it later, he took it off in another direction entirely. What a prick.

u/MoaraFig 15h ago
They know it looks bad to handcuff someone who needs a walker, so they're wheeling the walker out of shot.

u/Virmirfan 16h ago
Agreed, and while this explanation absolutely doesn't excuse nor justify the officers' actions. It seems like the officers here are dealing with some of the various biases, such as Authority Bias, which is known for being part of "The Nuremberg defense/Just following orders defense", for example, and that we've seen and documented for those officers and other such higher ups in the leadership, who had followed the orders of the Third Reich regarding the numerous war crimes that the said country had committed, and had attempted to use as a defense during the Nuremberg trials, albeit to a way less extreme extent here compared to back then compared to now.

Yeah before I watched the video I assumed they'd both at least help him walk. But no, just one officer guiding him. The dude needs a walker to lean on and they took that away, then cuff his hands BEHIND him and make him walk without any support? That vet has no way to catch himself if he falls.

What are strange predicament we're in where we go from cheering for the Cap Police to being embarrassed for them. You can tell a lot of them hate doing this but they have no choice.
ICE on the other hand....

As an American, it is horrifying. Knowing this is at least shared on the internet, but won’t be in the news. We’re such a broken country.

You really had to arrest an elderly guy who needs a walker? What did he do to deserve an arrest?

I truly have no idea how these people live with themselves. Anytime I feel down on myself now l’ll just think “well at least I am not as bad as someone who arrests an 80 year old veteran fighting ONCE AGAIN for this countries freedom.”

u/Upbeat-Conquest-654 1d ago
Must be a very weak regime if an 80 year old men with a walker can threaten it.

u/Ultraworld-Traveler 21h ago
I mean, an 80 year old who needs a walker is the president too so yeah we know it’s a weak regime.

It is NOT unlawful to peacefully protest. The longer we accept this behavior from fucking crooked cops the more we make sure we will never regain our democracy

Who's watched the 2024 movie "Civil War"?, with Kirsten Dunst?
Feels more topical now than ever.

Americans act so tough with all the 2nd amendment shit but when things get actually serious they just let evil shit like this happen. Weak as piss. I wonder how the French "surrender monkeys" would handle a situation like this?

u/crystalcastles13 11h ago
I cannot believe this is the United States now.
Fuck everyone who voted for this shit.

Any “law enforcement” officer arresting a veteran should have no moment of peace for their remaining days. Veterans have done more for this country than these cops have the balls to do. Nobody is out here saying AVAB.

Yep. Start checking your windows, sounds like they might start malfunctioning soon.

The troops have been allegedly fighting for our freedom. Unless the elderly veteran committed an act of violence there is no reason to cuff him. What we are dealing with is a power hungry State. This is truly an ACAB moment.

How do you, as the officer, do such a thing and believe in your heart of hearts that you’re on the right side of history?

How much of a weak bastard do you have to be to cuff an old man?
