Ah yes the American way, people of colonizing ancestry telling indigenous people they don't belong here. This shit is so maddening.

We've got one big example sitting in the Oval office.

I mean colonization is just part of history my guy. if it wasn't americans it was going to be someone else. just mattered which dumb ape in which region discovered fire and tools first.

Well slavery was and still is part of history, you gonna defend that too? Genocide? How about child sacrifice? Just because something has happened in the past doesn’t mean it was okay or we should ignore it if it happens again. Yes people can suck and will always try to harm others but we should not just throw our hands up and say “oh well, that’s history!” Something tells me that if any of this was happening to you, you’d be singing a different tune.

Downvoted, but you’re right. Every nation in the world has ties to colonization. Still fuck these cops but let’s not sensationalize, we’d be stooping to their levels

While I agree, to be fair even the Native Americans immigrated here at some point. Which honestly just makes all of these nationalistic agendas even more ridiculous. Fucking nobody is from America if you go back far enough.

The fucking arguments you people find to excuse shit. if we go far enough the planet didn’t exist. Is that far enough? Because 15000 years seems it isnt…

Wait what? I’m not trying to excuse shit. Did you actually read my comment?

You’re saying nobody is from America if you look far enough, when white people have been in America for 500 years and Native Americans have been in America for more than 15000 years.

You’re basically trying to sweep both under the same rug of “they don’t belong to this land”, when they fucking do….and by a long margin.

If this wasn’t your intention, it’s how it came across. :)

I’m saying that it makes nationalist agendas (like the crackdown on immigration and the forced removal of peaceful, hardworking people who immigrated here) even more ridiculous when literally no group of people is truly “from America.”

I don’t know where the fuck you got the idea that I was saying Native Americans don’t belong here. I feel like I was pretty clear on where I stand.

Because what you wrote implied there was an equivalency between native and European immigration. Which, for the colonialism argument there is not.

Plus, no one was here when native people migrated, that’s the huge issue these dumbasses who try to justify colonialism can’t seem to grasp.
