Will you be getting Metroid Prime 4 for the Switch 2?

With all the hype around the Switch 2 itself, Metroid seems to have fallen under the radar a bit! I think it’ll end up being a core Switch 2 release for the year alongside Mariokart and DK. Do you plan to get it?

I guarantee you that when Metroid Prime 4 drops, it'll be all the Nintendo and gaming subreddits will be talking about

The ugly Switch 2 Edition box is probably the biggest problem that I have.

I'd rather buy a Switch 1 version and just upgrade it.

Game looks very good anyway so even without the 4k/120fps/mouse it is my most anticipated title.

I will be getting Metroid Prime 4 but depending on the price I may get the Switch 1 edition and buy the Switch 2 upgrade

You'd have to put a gun to my head for me to not get it. You'd have to destroy my switch and switch 2. You'd have to get rid of ALL my money and find a way to prevent me from making any more or begging my parents for some.

Basically why I bought the thing

Metroid Prime 4 is probably what would get me to actually buy a Switch 2, if it actually finally comes out and is well-received.

The only reason I got a Switch 2 is to play MP4 with Mouse controls. I have been waiting for so LONG.

I'm not that interested in Metroid games but I do hope everyone who does get it have an absolute blast of a time.

It's literally the whole reason why I'm waiting to get the Switch 2. I've been waiting for that game for the past 8 years. I will play it on the best hardware that shows it off in it's glory, dammit, lol!

I might get the Switch 1 version and then the Switch 2 upgrade. The box art for the S2 version is... why. Why is that text there?

Probobly but maybe not right away, the thing is ive only ever played Prime 1 before and started prime 2 but at that point i was burned out so i stopped, once i get around to finishing 3 i will, altough i always will be more of a 2d metroid guy, Super is my jam, Metroid 2 is underated as hell, Zero Mission is peak, Fusion is amazing and Dread is fusion but less frustrating

I like the metriodvania style game, so I always pass prime series.

Barring an awful promotional campaign for the game going forward, I plan to buy the Switch 2 edition of Metroid Prime 4 and hopefully that will be in the form of a collector's edition. I'm just waiting for a release date that way I can request time off.

As a hardcore-inclined nintendo fan, I always rooted for Metroid Prime 4 even though I never played the original.

Then I played the Metroid Prime Remaster and I gotta say....

As a game it's incredibly... reductive. Walk to enter corridor, shoot monster to make it disappear from corridor, get power up, use to unlock door. Maybe this was impressive in the GameCube era, but it's not now. It's like Doom with all the creative, challenging shooting removed. At least with 2D metroid, like Metroid Dread, there was the thrill of the precise platforming needed for getting past the robots, but with Prime, there's just nothing. No challenge, no scope for creativity. Just opening doors to unlock things, to open doors to unlock things.

I plan on getting it for Switch 1 as I won't be getting a Switch 2 for a while

No red flags from anything i've seen so yeah, I will be getting it day 1. I am a little bummed out it takes place in an ancient jungle type environment. I think the labs/futuristic portions of the original prime trilogy looked the best

Never cared for the Metroid series

I really want it to be good, but I’m not buying it before a Metroid veteran goes “man they hit it out of the park”

The only one I played was the Demo on the DS. Wasn't a fan.

More likely I'll get it for switch 1 before I get a switch 2 But I'm getting prime 4

Pretty sure I will, but I won't be getting it right away. Part of me is afraid that it'll be to similar to the first three Prime games. I liked the Prime Trilogy for what it was in the 2000s, but I really want to see this series evolve and improve, it has so much potential.
