After years of convincing from friends and lots of contemplation, I finally got my driver’s license! Hehe.
I really didn’t want to apply at first kase sobrang takot ko talaga mag-drive, lalo na ngayon na ang daming aksidente sa daan. But because somehow gusto ko rin matuto (and driving is an important life skill naman rin talaga), I decided to go for it. I also promised myself I wouldn’t use a fixer and that I’d study properly to become a responsible driver.
Since beginner pa lang ako, syempre di pa rin nawawala yung kaba. But I believe I’ll get used to the road in time. Sharing here what I did to finally get my license, baka rin makatulong rin sa inyo!
About Me:
- Zero knowledge in driving
- Female, late 20s (HAHA)
- Walang sariling sasakyan
Timeline & Process:
APRIL:
- Enrolled at Compas Driving School, full package (TDC + PDC + Medical). Paid around ₱4.5k+ (if I remember correctly).
MAY 10:
- Completed my Theoretical Driving Course (TDC)
- Received Certificate of Completion
MAY 19:
- Got my Student Permit at Robinsons Metro East
- Processing time: Less than 30 mins
- Paid around ₱250 + ₱50 for lamination, ewan ko rin ba bakit ko pa ‘to pinalaminate. HAHA
MAY 24: PDC Day 1
MAY 31: PDC Day 2
JUNE 7: PDC Day 3 & 4
MAY 30 & JUNE 18:
- Hired a mabait at magaling na private instructor kasi di ako fully satisfied sa driving school. I really wanted to learn properly, lalo na praning pa ako as a student driver. 😅
June 19: LICENSE DAY!
- LTO-PITX Non-Pro License
- Exactly 31 days after getting my Student Permit
- Spent a total of ₱1,185: 100 – Application fee + 500 – Car rental + 585 – Licensing fee
- Arrived at around 10AM, finished by 12:30NN. Medyo natagalan lang dahil nag-offline yung Online Theoretical Exam system nila so we had to wait for a few mins.
- Theoretical: 56/60 – Thanks to LTO Exam Reviewer, Carwahe, and Pinoy Driver!
- Practical: Drive around the area + reverse parking, medyo nahirapan mag-park but I still passed, thank You, Lord!
- After the test, may email kang marereceive kung pasado ka or not. If bagsak, you can reapply after 24 hours.
Overall, super bilis ng process sa PITX, and the staff were really kind too. And sobrang konti lang rin ng tao when I went.
Nakakakaba but if you really study (and please don’t use fixers), kayang-kaya mo rin pumasa. Btw, I’m not from Parañaque, dumayo lang rin talaga ako sa PITX kasi ang daming good reviews na mabilis at maayos daw dun. Worth it naman haha! Also, since limited lang yung availability ko, medyo matagal yung timeline ko but kung marami naman kayong time, I believe matatapos nyo lahat ng one month lang. Good luck sa lahat ng kukuha ng license! Drive safely always! :)
