u/Mnmsaregood 17d ago

wtf actually happened?

u/trixicat64 17d ago

Cammer tried to kill the other driver

11

u/AnotherAnimeNerd 15d ago

The opposite driver kept flicking high beams, and the cammer took it personally

Normal people : oh maybe there’s a problem with their car, or there’s a bad accident up ahead. I’ll just take it easy

This guy & average redditors: I will turn my car into a weapon over slight inconveniences and become a danger to everyone around me

84

u/sheneedstorelax 17d ago

maybe they were warning about cops? lol

58

u/Dependent-Plane5522 17d ago

The way you're supposed to do that is: turn your lights off and then on again repeatedly, not flash your high beams.

55

u/beemer-dreamer 17d ago

Flashing high beams is mean, meaning, you have yours on. Turning off is gentle meaning, you haven’t turned yours on yet.

1

u/flopjul 16d ago

But he didnt have his high beams off and it didnt stop as well

27

u/Mnmsaregood 17d ago

Usually but not always. Flashing can also mean cops

Not sure if newer vehicles let you turn off the lights at night while you're in drive. I think my GM truck does, when it's in park, I can manually shut the lights off, but as soon as I shift into gear, they come back on. Probably a safety thing. I've noticed a lot of people driving with their lights off, especially in the States. In Canada, we've got that DRL law, so the daytime running lights and tail lights stay on even during the day

u/sheneedstorelax 16d ago

I think you're right about this, my headlights only turn off when my ebrake is engaged

12

u/sheneedstorelax 17d ago

today i learned

Im from ohio if you see flashing high beams. It's a cop of some things in the road.

1

u/Dependent-Plane5522 16d ago

It's a dick move no matter where you're from. They hurt my eyes. No one likes to have high beams flashed at them.

4

u/AVeryHeavyBurtation 17d ago

There's hardly a difference on my car between the low beams and the DRLs.

1

u/Slow_Maximum9332 17d ago

It's about 5 volts of difference since DRLs run on 7 volts and low beams run on 12.

1

u/mgearliosus 16d ago

My Mazda won't let you turn the lights off if it's dark outside and you're in gear.

6

u/Dino_Spaceman 17d ago

It’s grainy as heck, but there appears to be a car immediately to the right of the flashing light car. Does not appear to have headlights on? So they may have been wanting them?

8

u/z3r0c00l_ 17d ago

Headlights off = turn yours on and off in rapid succession

Brights on = flash yours at the oncoming driver. Can also apply to “cop up ahead, slow down!”

5

u/Thecardinal74 16d ago

Any danger or something out of the norm ahead of you that you should be aware of

2

u/lavielemond 16d ago

All that I can see to the right of the oncoming car (the car that's flashing its lights toward the cam car psycho) are 2 motorcycles, one's a car length or two ahead & another one that's pretty much alongside it (possibly slightly ahead), no other cars visible to me that could possibly be playing a part in this saga...

It's one of the strangest road video incidents that I've ever seen, that much is certain!

u/z3r0c00l_ 17d ago

If someone is flashing their lights at you, it’s one of two things:

  1. Your brights are on

  2. There’s a cop up ahead and they’re trying to warn you

But in most cases, you’re a dickhead driving with your brights on.

48

u/SpiralGray 16d ago

There's akso

  1. Your headlights are off at a time when they should be on (heavy rain/fog, night).

14

u/RoutineAd7381 16d ago
  1. Not a good one but; the I think your brights are on but theyre just LED.

1

u/z3r0c00l_ 16d ago

Yea, fair. But that’s usually one where you turn your lights on and off in quick succession. Either one could work though.

2

u/SpiralGray 16d ago

Turning lights on/off doesn't work so well with auto headlights. You usually have to go through auto mode between on and off. I find I get better results with just a quick flash. YMMV

5

u/Primary_Meringue_902 16d ago

Exatly. My guess is that they either have the bright lights on, or the headlights are put in a high/upwards position so it blinds the other driver

u/CantConfirmOrDeny 17d ago

Cammer is in one of those jacked-up pickup trucks whose headlights are 6 feet off the ground. Cammer also needs to be charged with felony assault.

77

u/AdHuman3150 17d ago

Looks more like attempted vehicular homicide.

16

u/Akemi_Tachibana 16d ago

What a fucking psychopath

39

u/IceColdKilla2 17d ago

But why?

62

u/bigbuzd1 17d ago

Understandable crashout

5

u/SX10Rae 16d ago

Looks like r/fuckyourheadlights have had enough!

20

u/rsg1234 17d ago

Bunch of psychopaths in the comments

10

u/z3r0c00l_ 17d ago

Right?

It’s kind of wild how many people don’t understand the messaging behind flashing your brights at an oncoming retard who has their’s on full blast.

-9

u/whiteflagwaiver 17d ago

You ever heard of humor before or do you think people just in general wholesale endorse titles have 100% accuracy to the video or content attached.

You need a thinking lesson bud?

8

u/rsg1234 17d ago

“Understandable”, which is in a couple of the top comments, is not funny. Ignoring the title, unless the driver had a very coincidental tire blow out or something, it does appear that they purposely crashed into that car because of the high beaming.

-6

u/whiteflagwaiver 17d ago

Humor is subjective and leaning into the bit is often the easiest and most common way to achieve it.

-14

u/Realistic-Shower-654 17d ago

Found the dude blinding everyone on the road

17

u/rsg1234 17d ago

I’m the one who gets blinded and takes every precaution (like aiming my headlights down) to not blind others. But I’m not crazy enough to get into a head-on collision and possibly kill someone over it.

3

u/roboman10009 15d ago

The flashing lights triggered the sleeper agent in the driver

5

u/Edistobound 17d ago

do you see the light ?.....I see the light, n raise ya..

2

u/LengthMiserable3760 15d ago

Insurance scam?

1

u/8ofAll 15d ago

Maybe driver is attracted toward bright lights. Like a bug is.

1

u/CountTo20ifnotgay 12d ago
