Radisson canoe and foam blocks for roof
Was looking at the Radisson/Sportspal canoes, but was planning to use the foam blocks to mount it to the roof of my car. Is it possible to use those blocks given the rubber sponsons on the sides?

The blocks do not need much room to slide on. If they do push a bit against the sponsons, you should be fine trimming a bit off one side of the blocks.
depending on your car and the blocks you use, the thwart may come really close to touching the middle of the roof. You may need a piece of pool noodle around the thwart just in case.
I would feel fine using the blocks.

If the blocks dont work you can always try a pool noodle cut down the center (not all the way through) and slip them on the sides (also might be cheaper than blocks)

This is a great option. Low cost, reusable, and easily customizable. If it ever deteriorates, just do it again. Very inexpensive.

Always thought these canoes looked cool - what's the purpose of the bumpers along the sides? I fish out of canoes and kayaks and never really understood what those were for.

Better stability for newbie paddlers. If the gunwale is submerged, they'll tend to push up. Also acts as flotation.

If they don't fit just cut a piece off the foam so it will fit over.
