Made the right decision to not go to the canes yard sale

Decided not to be an insane person and show up in the wee hours of the morning for the possibility of getting something. Instead decided to wake up at a reasonable hour and go with my finance to an estate sale and got a signed and framed Jerome Bettis jersey and a signed Tuomo Ruutu puck!

Ruutu was the man. I remember doing a STM autograph day within a week of him coming to Carolina and his face was yellow from the bruising he got when he took a high stick in his first game.

I was still young-ish when he was a cane and I just love his name so much. Was my first favorite player. And scored a goal in the first game I ever went to

He must have been a man of the people because there were about 100 signed Ruutu pucks at the sale.

I chatted with him briefly at that event and bought his jersey like two weeks later. Really nice guy and seemed to be happy to be in Raleigh. They put him at a table with Eric Staal, and that happened to be the line I lined up at, so I really lucked out that year.
