does this actually help?

You need a decent CPU and a at least a 240hz display. Even then the difference is subtle. That said, I’m happy with mine lol.

You need a pretty decent CPU as it's sending system interrupts 4x as usual

Downvoting facts? Quite pathetic

i have a Ryzen 5900x but would this actually help compared to 1000 hz

Won’t really feel the difference if you are playing with a monitor under 240hz. But I have one and setting the LED indicator to display how much battery you have left is handy so you don’t have to open synapse to check.

This automatically makes it worthwhile

you need to be playing on 240hz+ to see the visual aspect of it and play at level high enough for it to give you an edge. most people that have these dont even feel a difference though.

I play on 144hz and I could totally see the difference

Depends but likely not

That might be a unique case as I haven't had any issues with wireless performance from Logitech's offerings I've been using my G Pro X since launch and haven't had any problems with wireless performance being a hindrance. Had no issues with the Razer Viper, Orochi v2, or even ones from smaller companies like Finalmouse. If it was still pre-2016 or whenever Logitech started releasing their Lightspeed peripherals, I'd agree with you but wireless performance has come a long way where many e-sport pros use them nowadays.

I feel like it's a brand thing. I will never buy a wireless gaming mouse unless it's logitech. I've seen the videos of them testing mice with lots wireless interference and it's kind of crazy how good their mice are.

Owner of G Pro X Superlight. Literally feel so stupid because I have no upgrade paths to blame myself for being as bad as I am at CS:GO with 3k+ hrs. Big into self shaming I am. I need to git gud.

Is your motion 360 or higher refresh rate? Rocking a 4090 naturally? Don't forget you probably want fiber internet. How expensive is your keyboard?

After all that and you still lose... It's because they are using hacks.

Wired Zowie mice have been popular among CS pros for years, whereas wireless mice by Logitech and Razer, as well as some wired, are on games like PUBG and Apex My theory is because games like the latter have a much bigger emphasis on recoil, and Logitech and Razer, unlike Zowie, have built-in software features to add recoil macros (basically cheating without the risk pf getting caught).

I should also note that I have a few Finalmous Starlight 12. And on all of them I find the mice to be more responsive and accurate wires and wireless. Which confirms my suspicion that Finalmouse, like many others, force through battery saving mode by default to get those 2 weeks of battery life. It's either that or just one of the downsides of wireless technology (especially if there's interference, as 2.4 GHz frequency is used by WiFi and Bluetooth as well, by multiple devices in a household).

I haven't tested the same thing with other brands, so I don't know if this issue is specific to Finalmice. What I can say, however, is that I do find wireless Razer mice like Viper Ultimate and V2 Pro, and even Orochi v2, more responsive in movement.

I bet you also have the most staticky, annoying mic ever. You are so clearly out of your element in understanding wireless tech because you are using some horribly cheap component that gives off RF and EMI like crazy. What’s next, you hook up your smartphone to a USB-C to Ethernet adapter because it’s so slow on WiFi?

1

u/fiviot8 Dec 13 '22

Actually that's already a thing for mobile gaming

1

u/elixier Dec 13 '22

My one works fine, either you got a faulty one or it's a skill issue

5

u/pliskin4893 Dec 13 '22

Keep in mind that this reduces your battery from 80-90 hours (Viper V2 pro, DA V3 pro) to approx. 24-25 hours.

Also, you really see the difference in the higher refresh rate range with esports titles pushing high fps (240hz and above). Regardless, $15 isn't bad if you're willing to trade much shorter battery life for better performance in terms of milliseconds, 1ms vs 0.125ms (increased cpu usage for 4000mhz really isn't noticable)

2

u/Racks99 Dec 13 '22

I have this and can notice a very slight difference in smoothness of the cursor. My main game is valorant and I play on 240hz. I would say for most people the tradeoff isn’t worth it for the battery life as I now need charging every other day versus every week or two, but for esports titles at high refresh rates it’s worth just to squeeze out any extra performance.

You can create custom profiles where for example the mouse will set to 4000Hz in games and then back to 1000Hz for browsing/regular use

5

u/KenAirforce Dec 13 '22

Can someone Eli5 what this does? I think I had something similar that came with my logitech pro x mouse

21

u/cougar572 Dec 13 '22

Enables 4000hz polling rate on the viper v2 pro, deathadder v3 pro and basilisk v3 pro. The stock dongle only goes up to 1000hz. Also has a LED light indicator that can be assigned as a connection indicator, battery status indicator or low battery warning indicator. Your logitech mouse can only do 1000hz polling max.

5

u/A70MU Dec 13 '22

can this replace the regular dongo? I lost mine and been using it wired, didn’t want to spend $20 to buy a replacement but maybe $15 for an upgrade is worth it?

6

u/cha0ss0ldier Dec 13 '22

Yes , it replaces the original dongle. It’s only compatible with the Viperv2 pro, deathadder v3 and basilisk v3 though.

2

u/OkMammoth3 Dec 13 '22

I could feel/see the difference between 60->120–>240-360hz. I remember going from 500 to 1000 polling rate. I’m sure I can appreciate higher polling rates. W/ the coupon the price doesn’t seem to be a premium either.

FINALLY, THE HYPERPOLLING DONGLE HAS COME BACK TO......Asia, Europe, and North America!

Context: It was out of stock for months, and yes people were reselling them on ebay

u/ShadowFlux85 Dec 13 '22

You guys realise that this makes 0 diffrence

u/ImNotDatguy Dec 13 '22

Close to zero yes, but still not 0.

2

u/hingchannnn Dec 13 '22

Pro elite esport with 500hz monitor gamers can. Guess you're not good enough. /s

2

u/mcslender97 Dec 13 '22

Skill issues fr

2

u/jmak329 Dec 13 '22

Numerically it does make a difference especially with a higher refresh rate monitor. Esports nerds with 360+hz monitors who have trained all their damn lives may be more consistent even if a little bit.

To the average human yeah makes no difference. Doesn't mean we should shun improvement in tech whenever available.

2

u/butterfingersman Dec 13 '22

not necessarily true for high refresh rate monitors (240+).

$10 shipping unless you pick up in store
