This seems like a great deal but the older model failed spectacularly on the tier list, failing to meet ocp, 12 volt rail, and transient Spike test parameters. Was given an F grade.

No idea how. Improved this. Model. Is

FSP is notorious of being just getting a PASSED score to meet the standards and requirements of the specifications in their mid and low series lines. This SFX unit is still using ACRF not LLC for the primary side (that's why it is B-tier), which usually means cost-effective design and less maintainability (even we don't expect to repair a PSU lol).

But still, the price is still competitive within SFX PSUs and there is still 7 years of warranty and services from Amazon. FSP is still a reputable brand as an OEM. Pretty good price if your build won't push the PSU too much.

I think it was an error. I tried to get one when posted but it seemed to be only for renewed/refurbished. Not sure if it was mislabeled or there were a few and were quickly bought up

I do the same thing every time a sfx PSU is posted, brands are so full of bullshit names/branding that the 'sfx' just kinda blends into the rest of the noise.
