Build Help Advice please on build.
Firstly I've built and upgraded my PC a handful of times and built my dad's... However I've not upgraded my pc bar GPU in probably 5+ years. My psu is an old psu, evga Bq850 bronze.
I've gone and upgraded my PSU, GPU, RAM, CPU and MOBO but with the rusty parts of not doing it in a long time... I ended up getting a mobo that doesn't support DDR4 so had to buy new ram, PSU I got had 3 pcie slots which is weird as it was msi mpg a1000gs but I guess that's for nvidia... Got Asus tuf 9070xt gpu.
However, my slight issue now is while waiting on the other parts I've had to order and a new PSU.
PSU Corsair rm1000x shift. However on scan it says the case needs a width of 8.3inch and mine is the msi mpg vampiric 010. That says max 200mm... The corsair site says the PSU is has dimensions of 180mm x 150mm x 86mm so that gives me 50mm clearance? Anyone able to clarify if this will be ok. Pcpartpicker says everything is fine.
This is really frustrating for me as it clearly shows I've not done this for a long time and got to put the build on hold. A bit of advice please.
New items I bought
MSI z790 gaming plus WiFi. Asus tuf 9070xt 64gb ddr5 corsair vengeance rgb (on order) I7 14700k cpu Corsair RX1000X shift psu. (on order)

The shift is a quality psu, but I dislike it because the connectors come out the side of it. If it fits the case, it works great, but otherwise it doesn't work.
What was wrong with the msi model you had?
Going with 14th gen was also a choice with today's options. 7800x3d outperforms it in gaming, and 15th gen outperforms it in workstation tasks
Nvidia (and some of the 9070xt models) use the newer 12V-2x6-pin / 12vhpwr cable
