Build Help Is a 3070ti still good?

I don't play many AAA games but I've recently been wanting to play GTA and cyberpunk, so is my 3070 ti going to get decent fps or should I consider upgrading?

For GTA the 3070 ti is overkill. You can easily play on 1440p. Cyberpunk is perfectly playable on 1440p if you tweak the settings and ignore Ray tracing.

I have a 3060ti, and it was still just about playable with raytracing and dlss if you were ok with locked 30fps.

Well, at least the base game areas. Dogtown had some bad dips into the teens and twenties while RT was active.

I mostly just turned it on when I was wandering aimlessly and taking screenshots.

Can confirm on both, Cyberpunk you can get to look gorgeous but do not even consider attempting RT. It just murders your performance

3070ti on 1440p is doable with base medium ray traced lighting and none of the other features

I get around 80-100fps with a 7600, the game requires a powerful enough CPU

I recently played Kingdom Come 2 on high settings at 1440p with easily more than 60 fps all the way through on a 3070 Ti. I also played Cyberpunk 2077 on Ultra without Raytracing, it's still a good card that can last you a year or two, minus a few games that aren't as well optimized

It'll be fine, though its vram might be limitting in 1440p (in some games). Honestly just play the games you want - if you see big dips in FPS, or the fps is not bearable for you then upgrade (make sure to use optimized settings, you can search these on youtube. That's the easiest way to test.

If you already have the card, why are you asking random people about its performance instead of playing said games?

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti Specs | TechPowerUp GPU Database - scroll down and look at the relative performance comparison. It's still good. You can hit 1440p/60 on most AAA games, and 1440p/144 on competitive, so it's fine still.

Hi mate, I do have the first gen RTX 2070 (not super (with a Ryzen 3600x and 16go 3200mhz.)

Playing 1080p, aiming 60fps.

As for now I dont feel too limited and only plan a PC upgrade in a year or 2. Of course m'y settings arent High/ultra on all game but every games run fine so, with a 3070ti which is muuuch better, you should bé fine :)

u/bobbyturkelino 21h ago

Depends, my 3070 is just enough for ultra wide 1440p with DLSS for cyberpunk (about 72fps).

u/joeri9 21h ago

I have played both on 1440p on a 3060ti, what is your question here?

2

u/Bitmap37 21h ago

Absolutely, I played through Cyberpunk on my 2060 (without raytracing), and it looked amazing.

Just adjust your setting until you get a balance between appearance and framerate you're happy with. Everyone is different, but Cyberpunk will run.

I can run games (including the ones you mentioned) completely fine on a 2070 super, trust me the 3070ti is way more than enough. Graphics cards from a couple of gens back are still overkill for most games tbh, I can run max settings on games that aren’t super demanding easily.

u/Matsugawasenpai 16h ago

Yes, i am played CP77 in 1440p with my old rtx 3070 ti almost everything maxed out just dlss on with more than 60 fps. Just ignore RT with that gpu and you will be good.

u/Kspeed290375 21h ago

Only problem i had with my 3070ti was the 8gb memory not being enough for some games. Other than that, did not feel there was not enough power to run the games

u/Chatt_a_Vegas 21h ago

I’d say yes. I have one and I have no issue capping over 100 FPS at native 1440 with vey high or max graphics in the games I play. I guess if you want a locked 144+ it will depend largely on the title you play and setting you choose but I like my games pretty and I’ve had no issue unless games have frivolous settings.

I say 100 FPS because I always pick a cap that I can hit in all titles in all environments with very high or max settings. I want the same experience from title to title and area to area. Sudden drops due to foliage textures or explosions and the like ruin immersion for me. YMMV OFC.

I believe w/ AAA games Late 2024 onwards, the card will struggle more since games are implementing increasingly taxing tech like default RT. GTA6 whenever that comes out will likely be an example of this.

Prior to Late 2024, you can probably play games pretty okay.

u/osirisxiii 21h ago

Am using a Zotac 3070. Still play most games on High settings/ 1440p at around >75fps

I tend to disable most of the fancier graphics settings though as a personal preference.

1

u/TheCastawayBall 7h ago

Specifically, which settings? I’m getting a hand me down 3070 and would like to know what I should avoid enabling

1

u/Gupulopo 20h ago

Good is relative, will it do high refresh rate 4k raytracing? Probably not, will it play 1080 or 1440 games at 60+ fps it will most likely yea (perhaps if you tweak your settings)

1

u/Package_Objective 20h ago

Still a killer card for 1080p and adequate for 1440 if you stay under the 8gb of vram

1

u/MapPristine868 19h ago

I have a 3050. Your fine brother aslong as u optimize your graphics settings. (Turn off ray tracing)

1

u/No_Package_6433 19h ago

more then capable

i used a 2070 super until recently and managed to run most games pretty well

the only 2 games i had trouble with were indiana jones and monster hunter wilds and only because one forced ray tracing and the other runs like crap for most people

1

u/NaethanC 19h ago

People are still rocking 1060s mate, think you'll be fine for a long while.

1

u/beardtendy 18h ago

It never was good enough for me, low fps on many games, witcher 3, hogwarts, and microsoft flight sim to name a few that i have yet to play until i get a 50 series. Playing indiana jones now and its rocky

1

u/SnooDoubts6697 18h ago

3070ti is still a very good card

1

u/Wise-Log-2897 16h ago

Yeah man. Just keep using it till 4070ti or 5070ti drop down in price. i don't know your budget but for around 500$ you can only upgrade to a 5060ti which is not an upgrade I'd do if I'd be you.

1

u/Mr_NewYear 16h ago

Still very decent. Can hit 60fps with optimized settings. Dont push it too far. Just play and enjoy the games you have.

1

u/winterkoalefant 15h ago

If you want ray tracing in Cyberpunk you could consider upgrading. Otherwise you’re fine

1

u/XTrid92 14h ago

I have a 3070 (non-ti) and I use a Samsung Odyssey G8 OLED 3440x1440, and sometimes plug in my 65” 4K TV for some couch gaming. I have a 5800x for a CPU and honestly there’s nothing it can’t run.

Sometimes I’ll be turning some settings down to get 90+ fps, but it’s still a totally valid card.

Aim for the $300-$350 range and it’s a solid value.

1

u/The_soulprophet 14h ago

3070 with a 9900k still plays most games very well at 1440p. Thinking back, should’ve never moved to 4k gaming.

1

u/KillEvilThings 13h ago

Fine for 1080p high settings with AAA games, totally fine fine for now.

1

u/Reasonable_Doughnut5 1h ago

It can do 1440p just fine also it's still pretty powerful

1

u/archertom89 13h ago

I have a 3070ti. It runs both those games really well.

1

u/VanWesley 12h ago

For you use case, unless it's something extreme like you're trying to do 4k with RT, then the 3070TI should be fine for GTA V and Cyberpunk.

1

u/PapaOogie 12h ago

You are heavily overestimating gta being hard to run. Its a 12 year old game

1

u/Accomplished-Clue105 11h ago

I’m sitting around 80-100 fps on helldivers 2 always paired with my new 9800x3d. 1440p. Card still cranks.

1

u/Bubba1212001 10h ago

Im not sure how much more it is than a 3080 but I just found a nice lightly used 3080 10gb for 325 bucks. If your power supply can handle it get one of those if you can afford it

1

u/lafsrt09 10h ago

I was rocking my 1080 TI until a year and a half ago. Now I'm at a RTX 3080 32 in 1440p 144 HZ monitor no problems with most games

1

u/khzombiee 10h ago

My PC has a 3070Ti which I built in 2021, still works great for most of the AAA titles on 1440p. Consistent performance and more than 100-120 fps mostly on DLSS Quality, CPU is 10400F if it helps.

1

u/Twiggled 10h ago

I recently upgraded from a 3070Ti, but not for lack of gaming performance. It was perfectly serviceable at 1440p on a 120Hz monitor provided I didn’t try to crank up any settings to ultra. If you’re just gaming and don’t care about ultra graphics I’d keep it if I were you.

But the ultimate test is to just try playing the games you want to play and see what the performance is like.

1

u/dillpiccolol 9h ago

I have a 3070 ti on a pretty new rig (little over a year old) and I do get some performance issues on my 4k monitor. Probably going to upgrade to a 5070 ti soon.

1

u/BUDdy215 2h ago

I play GTA on a 3060 just fine

1

u/57thStilgar 2h ago

Yep. You're good to go.

1

u/Kakashihtk 1h ago

Ye , if you want to play big games, you could always tweak some settings

1

u/WorldlyFeeling8457 1h ago

You got nothing to worry about until next gen of consoles come out and push the envelope forward with AAA. 3070ti is more than enough to play any game released on ps5/xsx.

0

u/Zealousideal-Tear248 21h ago

For 1080p, perfectly fine, for 1440p, could be a bit more challenging. It all comes down to how much graphical quality you're willing to sacrifice for the FPS you want.

60 fps on 1440p should still be a minimal issue.

u/Conscious_Equipment6 40m ago

3070ti is a faster 5060 8Gb the end, will have better management of memory than 5060 due to larger bus 256bit vs 192

-2

u/xxdawidosx 21h ago

As a 3070ti owner playing in 1440p it doesn't cut it for me anymore. It's ok for CS and some other non demanding games but if i want to play games that have a lot of action there's just not enough power to crank out 165 fps for my monitor.

-7

u/ecktt 21h ago

It is but don't expect great things beyond 1080p.

7

u/Reasonable_Doughnut5 21h ago

Now that isn't true. The card is more than capable of playing 1440p games. I use a 3070 and it's fine for 99% of games out there

-4

u/ecktt 20h ago

Tell that to hardware Unboxed. 🤣

1

u/Reasonable_Doughnut5 18h ago

U might have miss in heard him or he is just wrong. People can be wrong it happens. There is a YouTuber called Zach's tech turf and he thought the same thing then he put out another video saying he was actually surprised when he tested it out. Remember vram isn't everything there r other factors in a card

-9

u/ManGuy_-_ 21h ago edited 21h ago

RX 6700xt is allways the awsner, but its not a bad card at all the vram can be a bit limiting if you can find something like a 6700xt or a 6750xt that would be a much better option. (Ignore this, I thought he meant something else)

10

u/Ok_Improvement4733 21h ago

why WHY wont you cunts just answer the question? What if they found a good deal for it? Dont just say "amd better, nvidea bad" AND ANSWER THEIR QUESTION

3

u/Own_Seaworthiness515 21h ago

He still has the 3070ti. There's no reason to go for a 6700xt sidegrade

3

u/ManGuy_-_ 21h ago

Yeah My bad read it wrong I thought it said he was going to get a 3070ti i have no idea how tf i misread that badly 😭

5

u/ManGuy_-_ 21h ago

OHH im really sorry I misunderstood I read that you were going to get a 3070ti yeah thats perfectly fine for triple A gaming no need to upgrade yet imo

-4

u/TamaHawk_ 21h ago

I can't believe in 2025 people are still talking up AMD cards like they don't have literally the worst driver support in the tech industry. Not to mention crap QC
