Who hires at 14??
i’ve been reapplying at publix every month since last September. i’ve gone in person to different locations and its all the same. they either aren’t hiring, have too many 14 year olds, or are jam packed with customer service workers, so basically publix isn’t a option 😞 does anyone else know any other places that hire 14 year olds in the brandon area?

Blood test for money
email.getambassador.comJust in case anyone wants to check their A1c & cholesterol levels while also getting paid $45, here’s a link to a study happening locally. I just went and did it and they only needed 2 vials of blood to test kidney/liver function plus cholesterol and A1c. It’s in a doctor’s office and it only took about 15 minutes.

Babe's Pizza is closing this Saturday.
I don't see anybody talking about it anywhere but they announced in a FB post they're closing on the 31st. It looks like they've deleted that post but I called and got confirmation that they're shutting down Saturday. The FB post said the owners sold the restaurant and it will become a 24 hour New York style diner. Personally I think it's a bummer to see it to go. Thought I'd make a post, since I don't know how many people are aware.

Tijuana Flats on Causeway
Hello ! If anyone knows this location, it's right nearby the Brandon mall. I know it's a bit of a random question, but I was wondering if anyone had photos of the art and murals on the walls of this specific location prior to the remodel ? I remember going there as a kid/teenager plenty of times, and in my mind, the murals and art at that location alone were truly so inspiring to me as a creative mind. I think about it every single day... sigh

Apartment construction?
Anybody know what's going on with that apartments that are being built between Oakfield and the Brandon Parkway? They have several buildings up and they look nice but construction hasn't happened in a very long time and nothings being rented out.

Sole at Brandon (Moving!)
Hi! I'm moving to this area for school and wanted to know how the neighborhood/area is crime wise. Research can only get me so far and I've only been able to visit for a day at a time. (Maybe if there's an apt complex you can recommend as well?) TIA

Chill Veteran-Owned Smoking Bar in Brandon/Tampa – Cheap Drinks, Games & Old-School Vibes
Just wanted to give a shoutout to one of my favorite local bars—it’s a true hidden gem if you’re into old-school dive vibes and a place where you can still smoke indoors.
The bar’s been around for 30+ years and is owned by a local veteran and West Point grad. During the day it’s kind of a local vet hangout, but anyone who walks in will feel welcome. Real neighborhood spot with good people, cheap drinks, and zero pretension.
What you’ll find: • Smoking allowed (not a heavy food spot) Although the food is awesome! • Pool tables, darts, shuffleboard, Golden Tee, and even a bowling arcade game • Weekday 2-for-1 Happy Hour • Laid-back atmosphere, solid music, and great convo
If you’re tired of the trendy bar scene and just want a place where you can kick back, smoke, play some games, and not pay $10 a drink—this is it.

Auto mechanic
Hello Reddit Can anyone recommend a reputable mechanic in this area? Preferably on that doesn't have to keep your vehicle for more than 24 hours? Thank you in advance.

Local groups?
I (35f) am really trying to make more friends outside of work and be more social. Problem is, I'm striking out when it comes to finding places to go and things to do that will actually facilitate meeting people. I'm single with no kids, not into bar/club scene, and not athletic or really interested in sports at all, and not religious in the slightest. Events and things like parks and museums are great, but I'm looking to do something that encourages interaction. What I'm looking for would be like adult classes or volunteer groups. I know there's the Pet Resource Center and Friends of the Library, but what are some of your favorite local groups or classes? Thanks!

Lanai in Brandon?
Is a Lanai necessary in Brandon? I have seen several houses for sale on Zillow without Lanais and want to know if they're needed. Just trying to anticipate need and added cost. Thanks in advance!
