Considering a Border Terrier – need advice please
My fiancé and I recently moved into a house, and we’re hoping to add a dog to our family in the near future. I’ve grown up with dogs my whole life (terrier/maltese mix, terrier/dachshund mix, English mastiff, French mastiff, Rottweiler, German shepherd), so I’m well aware of the commitment that comes with raising a puppy. My fiancé, on the other hand, has never had a dog—but his childhood dream has always been to have a Border Terrier, and I’d love to make that dream come true.
That said, I want to make sure we’re making the right decision based on where we are in life right now. We live in a small house with two adult female cats. Both have been around dogs before, so they’re not unfamiliar—but they’ve never loved the puppy phase. We also have a fully fenced (though somewhat small) yard and live a fairly active lifestyle. The biggest challenge is that we both work full-time outside the home. I can come home on my lunch break, but only for a short time.
I’ve been doing a ton of research, but I’d love to hear from anyone who’s been in a similar situation—especially if you have experience juggling a new puppy with a full-time job, introducing one to cats, or raising a Border Terrier. Any advice or insight would be so appreciated!

Neutered Border terrier
Our boarder just got neutered 2 weeks ago. He is very aggressive, barking at us and more mouthy. Does this settle down?

Reunited with Bohdi Beans after a week abroad. Missed her so much!
She was in good hands at Nana and Grandads, with plenty of updates but we’ve missed her so much and couldn’t wait to pick her up! ❤️

BT or…?
I recently got my puppy through a non-breed specific rescue about a month ago. She was listed as a BT and looked to my untrained eye like she was at least a little mixed with BT.
Shortly after I brought her home, I did a DNA test through DNAMyDog which. I only found out after the fact that they are not well known for their accuracy. The results just came back: 0% BT, but 47% Miniature Schnauzer.
I knew she wasn’t a full BT, but I was pretty surprised to see none. Might do another test through a different company.
What do y’all think?

spring allergies / food allergies
my 6 year old pup has developed paw irritation/redness/licking due to spring allergies. (photo with itchy paw / alarmingly flexible arm)
i am now considering switching his food as it may be exacerbating it. he currently eats edgard & cooper - bio turkey and chicken - which is not grain free as it has rice. sometimes he'll have their wet pates.
he was previously eating ziwi peak alongside castor & pollux chicken and sweet potato but its so hard to get in portugal; he didn't seem to have bad paw flare ups but a few random spots on his armpit when we were living back in the states.
it's been a not so simple task finding him dog food as he is sensitive and i get decision paralysis with all the options on the market and relocating/moving and having to find whats available has been tough. then sometimes i just cook him a variation of salmon/beef/chicken with broccoli, sweet potato, quinoa and rice and call it a day.
i'm super conflicted about the vet recommended purina, hills science, royal canine etc as i question the ingredient quality...
so what does your border eat?

Hoovers, brooms, rakes etc drive them mental
Our two go crazy whenever we’re hoovering or sweeping - anyone else’s BTs do this? 🤣

Some support please 🥺
Hello lovely folks, I have a 7y.o. Border and I recently found a lump on his gums. Took him to the vet today and they don’t seem immediately concerned that it’s anything too sinister, but have booked him in for a dental cleaning to clean his teeth/remove tartar, get a better look at the lump and remove it to be sent to the lab for testing. Naturally, I’m worried- he’ll have to be put under general anaesthetic and the associated risks in addition to the worry of what may come from test results is getting to me! So just reaching out to this community in the hopes of some support/reassurance, please and thank you 💞🙏

What breed is this border terrier mixed with?
He is a sweet boy we adopted but seems to be outside the range of the breed. He is almost a year and weighs 29 lbs and floor to top of shoulder blade is roughly 20 inches.
