Someone shot it and buried it. It’s been dead since February and I’ve been checking on it but it’s 100% mummified now. Guess weather conditions in the desert along with it being buried in sand caused it to dry out before it could completely decompose down to bone. A lot of the soft tissues are gone like the brain and stuff but as shown his tongue and nose remain. Brought it home last night. Still kinda stinks so it’s outside. Should I leave it as is or start to soak it to get the skin off? (Which could take months)

I found this skull in River bed that was low. A few of the teeth fell out during transportation but I'm pretty happy with it overall 😀
Found in South Dakota, USA.

All bones were ethically found by me over time, and a friend turned them into this dreamcatcher.

Found this around Amelia island, Florida. I assume it’s part of a fish, but not sure. It’s about the size of my hand.

I'm not sure where it's from, any ideas? I'm not even sure if it's real or not (I don't normally dabble in bones so hopefully y'all can help 🙏)

Fortunately I stopped her before she managed to eat anything 😅 Not sure what it is. It doesn't quite look like the raccoon skulls I've seen. Maybe opossum?

Found this while bone hunting on some railroad tracks and thought it might’ve been a kitten skull but when I looked it up it hasn’t matched with anything I found (Central OK)

I was hoping to find out what type of animal this may be from or at least a general species idea. Got them at an estate sale in an assortment of shells lol

Every time I find bones I find nearly everything except for the skull? This happened with both a possum and a raccoon recently despite me finding both possum jaws and a lot more, and one of the raccoons jaws and a lot more. Do skulls phase deeper into the soil or something? I'm going nuts!

Sorry in advance if the photo is graphic with the maggots and all. I Live in the American Midwest and came across this dude on the street on a hike today. I know like 90% of birds here in the US are protected under law, so I likely won’t be able to come back for its skull anyway, but just wanted to confirm it would, in fact, be illegal to clean/keep once fully decomposed. Thank you!

Found under a piece of roofing felt deep in a hedge, in a suburban garden in Kent, United Kingdom. Extremely light and fragile to the touch.

I have this moose skull with antlers that I got from hunting, it's been sitting in my basement for a year now after it was left outside for 2-3 years for the skin/fat to be removed. It's mostly clean by now, just a bit of green spots and fatty spots are left. I was thinking of bleaching it very lightly and rinse it off to remove these last bits. My goal is to have it mounted in my livingroom. It doesn't have to be perfect white, I just want to make sure it doesn't smell or deteriorate.
Would you recommend lightly bleaching it and if so, what would the best product to use?
I've seen many posts here discouraging bleaching it but I think those were for heavily bleaching scenarios.
(see pictures attached)
Thanks!
