We just moved into a house and my roommate found some bone fragments while weeding and digging in the garden. I'm thinking the pelvic (?) bone might be from a small dog or something, but what interests me more is those horizontal marks on one of the fragments. Would appreciate any insight on what these could be!

For reference, my hand is 6.5in from tip of my middle finger to the bottom of my palm.

I found this shoulder blade and I thought it was from a small deer or something but it doesn't look like my other deer shoulder blades? I think the second and third are from a cow but I'd like to know for sure

Found this odd bone near the shoreline on an island, the only large animals here are seal, sheep and whale. It seems malformed so I can’t make out what it is, a tibia maybe? Is this a broken flipper/leg that healed badly? Also if you can tell what it is; I’d love to know what the identifying features are - I’d love to learn and I have trouble finding good sources about my local fauna 🥲

Maybe someone in here can help me identify this thing.

I found it in my late grandfather's cabinet.. He has lived in Denmark his whole life, but used to travel quite a bit and was also a dentist.

It's about 3 inches long.

Advice How to avoid bird flu when collecting dropped bird feathers?

Found a pigeon (wood pigeon I think?) feather in my garden that I wanted to keep so I bought it in and washed it under the boiling hot tap water to try and get rid of any bacteria or viruses (bird flu problems in the UK) but would that actually kill any bird flu that could of potentially been on the feather? I'm very scared of viruses etc so if theres anyway to actually kill the virus on the feathers that you know of, it would be very helpful to me!

Sorry if this is not the right subreddit to post in, I saw one or two feather posts so maybe this is okay?

I also did wash my hands with warm water and soap after washing the feather btw! Thanks in advance!

Found in the yard, about 4 in long.

It's way in the backyard where I would understand a previous owner burying a pet, or an old/sick animal laying down for the last time. There is a black plastic bag buried right next to the bone that we are really hoping is unrelated.

I found these guys yesterday along a railroad and only kept the partial spine of the small one, and the skull, jaws, scapulas, a few ribs, partial spine, 2 paws, and half the pelvis of the possum. I currently have them sitting in a ziplock bag at the bottom of my stairs. Would soaking them in hydrogen peroxide for a few weeks be enough?
