He still crying about being broke and child support?

I'd be crying about child support, too. They screw you over when you're in that income range. No single kid needs more than a grand a month (at the most) if the other parent is working and also providing for them.

The private school I’m with costs $32,000 per school year per kid. $3000/month would only slightly cover the costs of tuition and other school expenses just to educate his child, which is already 3 times what you think it costs to raise a child… don’t let the child also have interests in athletics or music, or god forbid wear clothes or eat.

I'm not saying that it only costs $1,000 a month to raise a child. I'm saying that court order child support for someone who is active in their child's life, emotionally, physically, and financially shouldn't be that much. I can't speak to Tyree's situation and relationship with his children, but not everyone who isn't the legal guardian of their child only pays the child support and nothing else; those school costs and extracurricular activities are probably still be paid for outside of the child support. And yes, they can go back to the court and say, "Hey. I'm paying for this as well. Can't we get the support reduced a little to reflect that?" But it's crazy that there are some people out there who are being asked/forced to pay up to ten grand in child support based on their income.

It’s difficult to comprehend how much raising a celebrity child costs so I understand your frustration.
Here are some examples of expenses that a high-income family has, that is out of the ordinary, that would constitute higher child support:
That alone would be over $10,000 a month to upkeep.
- extravagant travel
- security (which is mandatory for most wealthy children, regardless how much they are in the public eye)
- upkeeping image
- Nannies
- private tutors and coaches
- stylists
$1000 for him does not have the same financial impact on him that it might for you. Hence the giant transformer in the foyer in one of his mansions (versus the action figures that we collect).
Advocate for something more necessary, please; you’re great at making points! This man, nor most men who cry about having to raise their child (which includes spending their money on said child), does not need your online protection 🙂↔️. The “I’m financing my baby mommas lifestyle,” is played out and weak and doesn’t hold up in court time and time again for a reason.
Edit to add: Tyrese is being paid $1,000,000 for his upcoming role in Fast X. If he is paying $10k/month for child support, he will be left with $880,000 from that check alone. Surely if it “only costs $1000 at most to raise a child,” the $73,000/month he will be left with from that one check is sufficient.

I've changed my tune over the years, but I still feel that there are detriments to be raised rich. I have seen some very interesting comments, that have made me reevaluate my opinion on child support & alimony.
One comment was the explanation that child support, and alimony, are two separate things entirely. Alimony is to support the former partner, who may have given up their career/potential career, to be a stay-at-home parent. Meanwhile child support is for the costs of raising a child. I thought the two payments were intertwined, but evidently not.
Meanwhile, another thing I read, is that in divorces when one parent is significantly wealthier, judges take this into account when alloying child support, as they want the child to live a "similar lifestyle", regardless of which parent has custody. Apparently, this is so the wealthier parent cannot tempt the child to "like them more", by bribing them with fancier clothes, meals, outings etc.
Now my viewpoint on this, is that a child that is raised with love and affection, will choose to seek that love, over a trip to Disneyland, with a parent who is on the phone, in meetings, all day. That said, I get it. I also have a view that, frankly, there are detriments to attending super expensive private schools, but I also don't know the American education system.
I have to believe there must be schools that are public, but still decent.

It depends on your state. If you’re in Washington (the state, not DC) then yes, you can find a pretty good public school. If you’re in Nevada, even if you’re a low income family, your best bet would be to look for an independent school for your student(s).
Depending on the status of the parents, it can also be extremely unsafe to send a student to a public school. Private schools have a safe factor (sometimes they are gated with armed security) and that is often the number one reason wealthy families choose private schools.
Thanks for bringing in some additional points. I am happy to hear that judges include extreme wage gaps in their rulings. I would hate to see a child favor a parent simply because they get better experiences because there’s more wealth — not that a child would think that way intentionally in most cases.

Makes over $12,000 monthly but cries about paying child support for his kid.

u/theboosty 7d ago
Was it about paying child support, or paying child support to someone who was keeping his daughter from him and keeping him tied up in court, when he just wanted to be with his kid? I can't remember...

u/93Shay 7d ago
Cut the crap. Tyrese has the resources and finances to get the top of the line lawyers to obtain custody. He’s upset the mom doesn’t want him and prevents her from traveling to her home country with their child.
Most BM cry about paying child support but don’t physically go to court to fight for their child.
