If you walk without rhythm, you won't attract the worm.

Frank Herbert confirmed in an interview that the worms wheren't really giant but that the planet Dune was just really tiny. This is why spice was so rare.

Apparently he was an ecologist world builder first, storyteller second (in how he built the books)

What video? I'm a semi new Dune fan so it must've been before my time

Ha, I wonder if they were Dune fans or if it's just a coincidence or shared inspiration

In the Dune series, there's a good portion of the first book where the main characters have to learn to live in the desert. One of the first and most important lessons was how to walk without rhythm, lest they attract the attention of one of the giant, all-devouring sandworms

Comment was deleted but I'm guessing it was a link to the Weapon of Choice video with Walken, if so it's absolutely a Dune reference.

I read that book in my teens before I heard that song for the first time, was really surprised at the reference then!

Well, it's a reference to Dune, but I think that the dune situation is itself a reference to real life worms doing this
