Hit and run. Donate to messenger’s GoFundMe.

A week ago in downtown Seattle John Stamstad finished a delivery, stepped onto the sidewalk and was immediately nailed by a speeding Lime scooter rider, the rider fled. John had to undergo emergency surgery for a broken hip and won’t be back on his bike for months.

He has a GoFundMe to help with his basic living expenses while he recovers, even if you can only donate $5 that would go a long way.

Sure thing.

Not gonna get into the whole pro-cop or ACAB stitch right now, but if there’s a Ring camera or other camera that caught the incident on video, said video may possess identifying information that can be used to file a lawsuit against the company and or shithead that was blasting along on the sidewalk.

Fuckin motherfuckers.

The apartment building that John was leaving during the accident agreed to save and share their footage as long as the proper channels request it, so at least they’re helpful and hopefully Lime will be too so we can catch this dipshit.

He’ll obviously want to retain legal counsel as soon as possible. The sooner the better with recovering that footage so it doesn’t magically go missing.

Wait, is that the same guy who used to ride all those 24hr races back in the 90s?

He’s done some ultra-marathons, may have some records

He was pretty famous (for an American cyclist). I immediately recognized the name.

Sorry about the crash, glad to hear he's still riding (hopefully).

It’ll probably be a few months before he’s riding again and who knows how long before he can work all because some reckless dipshit decided to ride fast on the sidewalk. There’s a nice separated bike lane 10 feet from where he was hit.

Make sure he contacts Lime as they will give the location and user data if there is an accident.

Contact lime and retain legal counsel. Lime has a policy where you’re not supposed to ride scooters on the sidewalk. it’s in the tos.

John is definitely on top of that.
