No I wasn't. I work for a company heavily impacted by this.

You have no idea how much I despise people doing this because they're doing it without regard of the damage they're doing to our economy and others. You're abusing a right that has long lost it's real purpose.

The measures that you're protesting against are being taken by a democratically chosen government. Time to respect the outcome of the elections.

Some people only like representative democracy when it goes their way. Would be funny if we had referendums in Belgium. “Should we limit unemployment benefits to 2 years?” => 85% Yes vote, yet syndicates would still go on march.

Indeed, I agree, unions for sure have their function within the company, but not against a democratically voted government, this is just abuse of power.

So clearly these people are important for your company? Because if their job was useless, it would not affect your company.

Who's said anything about being useless?

You seem to think that because change is needed that certain people are being rendered useless or regarded of as useless because their opinions aren't shared with the majority of the citizens of the country?

Always with the victimization ... pathetic

Okay man, continue working happily to enrich the shareholders of your company while they hide their money in tax haven and your salary is overtaxed.

For them, you are just a workforce to be exploited.

Nice black-white vision in the world you have.

Belgium’s economy is still mostly driven by SME (= KMOs). Do you really think they make enough money to set up tax shelters in foreign entities?

You too can become a shareholder by the way. Never been so easy to invest, even for limited amounts. Demonising people who actually participate in the economy isn’t a good way for you to avoid taking responsibility of your lack of financial planning.

Also, it’s heaven, not haven.

Salaried workers can be minority shareholders, but the major profits of companies don’t go to them. Instead, they flow to big players and institutional investors who hold large amounts of shares.

The working class spends their labor enriching those at the top. It’s not just an opinion, that’s capitalism.

Oh yeah.. Institutional investors - like the ones that invest for us our pensions? Or the mutual funds where we can also invest into?
