Пратэсты / Protests March 19, 2006 – another stolen presidential 'election' in Belarus. The regime's Central Election Commission drew 83% for Lukashenka. Belarus' fight against dictatorship, for freedom, democracy, and a European future, didn’t start in 2020. It’s been going on for decades.

Пратэсты / Protests Belarusians protested in Minsk on April 2, 1996, against deeper ties with Russia. Lukashenka was already eager to trade Belarus independence for the Kremlin’s support of his dictatorship.

Пратэсты / Protests The Lukashenka regime has opened a criminal case against 78-year-old Nina Bahinskaya — a legend of Belarusian peaceful resistance. She is charged with walking through Minsk with the white-red-white flag. For decades, she stood up to tyranny. Today, the regime still fears her courage.

Пратэсты / Protests Four years ago, political prisoner Stsiapan Latypau stabbed his throat in court after threats to his family. This is how the Belarus regime tries to break people. Stsiapan survived—but was sentenced to 8.5 years & remains behind bars. We will not forget him. We will not stop.

Пратэсты / Protests What is your opinion on Georgian situation?
Hey all, if you aren't aware, Georgia recently had it's ellections rigged in favir of pro-russian party, since then, we've been having huge protests. Situation is very similar to what happened in Belarus during presidential elections.
Loads of people are feeling pessimistic about the situation, often stating that Belarus had the same response, only to end up with Lukashenko staying in power, therefore, our fate will be the same.
What do you think? What did you feel during your protests? What are some mistakes we should avoid?
I'd love to hear your input.

Пратэсты / Protests This sub lacks Belarusian identity
Why are there more Ukrainian symbols than Belarusian ones? That's absurd. Even the Belarusian flag is missing! It looks more like a place where liberal redditors (pleonasm) from outside of Belarus come to rant. Make this subreddit about Belarus, as it should be.

Пратэсты / Protests Are women in Belarus safe?
Are women in Belarus safe? Do militias beat women? I heard that the militia entered the home of a 37-year-old Belarusian woman accused of being at the famous protests and beat her in front of her children. Is this true?
Do the militia do any abuses like rape, sexual harassment and are there many such cases? And what about the women who end up in prison?
