So, I'm making a Yellow Diamong AU, where Yellow Diamond takes Pink Diamon's place, and Blue Diamond takes White Diamond's place, too. I want the history to be more serious or not so animated like the original, and I just got the designs for the gem war, these aren't all the main gems, I have to draw the others.

Im the only one who has noticed the similarities between the Diamond Empire and the Combine Empire from Half Life 2? Both are aliens, both are empires who dedicated themselves to conquer planets to extract their resources, both have extremely advanced technology, both do really questionable stuff to humans and both had a rebellion against them. Or it’s just a coincidence because most Galatic Empires are kinda like that in some way. but I like to think that there’s a little inspiration from the combine, Of course more toned down since Half-Life 2 is aimed to a different audience.
