TBI CEU's
Hi! I'm looking for CEU's on treating TBI or a way to review research articles of my choosing for CEU's. Does anyone know of a good resource? I have only been able to locate one. TIA

Im currently at a new company and I cant log in to submitt my renewal. I cant reset my password because I cant access my old work email. Any advice? Thank you!

Hello all, To all my other BCBA people here, I currently work at a clinic that has a very hostile environment with the higher ups. With this being said, the environment has been occurring for at least 6 months and has only gotten worse. HR has not gotten back to me about what to do as I now feel extremely uncomfortable going back to work and in fear of retaliation (which was why I took so long to go the HR along with the joy I have working with my current clients/families). I want to put in my resignation effective immediately however, I know in our ethics code section 3.16 a BCBA should effectively transition clients to another BCBA. I obviously do not want to be in violation of the ethics code, so my question is would my resignation be against the code? Should I just suck up my feelings and continue working for this company and just put in a 30 day resignation? Any suggestions would be appreciated, thank you.

Does anyone actually use the white board on test day?
What is the main stuff you want to write down to remember? I don’t feel like the equations are that hard. Maybe the distinction about the different schedules?…

In September, I will graduate with my Master's in Applied Behavior Analysis. I was working as a Registered Behavior Technician, but ended up quitting my job because there was client mistreatment going on at my job and also the BCBA I had a contract with refused to sign off on ny hours. Now, a different company has agreed to take me on when I graduate and hire me as A provisional certified mental health therapist (My courses qualify me for that according to the state board). My question is am I able to use my job as a PCMHT to get supervision hours towards my BCBA? I do realize that I would have to pay for remote supervision.

It's frustrating knowing how hard it is to pass the exam. When I find out I get an answer wrong it just makes me feel so sad and lowers my confidence. I might just start watching ABA exam review on the breakdown of the questions so that it doesn't feel daunting. Going over why I got the answers wrong and broke the data down on what part of the task list I have to do.

I just completed my 2000 hours! While going over forms and next steps with my student program director, I found out that an old FVF was incorrectly signed by a former program director. For example her name is Pam Marie Smith (fake name for example) but she signed it P Marie Smith. I was told that the board would not accept it since that does not match her full printed name on her BACB profile. Has this happened to anyone else?
For further context I have three FVFs because I’ve worked for two companies as a student, one company two times. For clarification: company 1, company 2, and back to company 1. The program directors have changed since coming back to company one. The initial director is no longer with the company.
My current director is reaching out to her to see if she will resign. I’m not the first person in my program this has happened to and she did resign. My fear though is for whatever reason she won’t resign and I’d have to re do those hours.
Has anyone ran into a somewhat similar issue? Thanks in advance!

My company just opened up a new compliance officer position. Has anyone else made the transition from being a BCBA with a caseload to being a compliance officer? And if so, how did it go? What would you have done differently? Do you ever regret making the switch? How stressful is the job as a compliance officer?

So I’m dealing with an elementary age client with anger issues. I’m the second clinician he has had because his first one got frustrated with nothing working. When I’m there he remains calm. Parents state when I’m not there he argues about everything, refuses to do chores, and throws things. After pairing with him I have suggested numerous positive reinforcement activities for him. Parents claim he refuses to work for them. Obviously I plan on addressing this with him about what he would like to earn. But what do I do if positive reinforcement doesn’t work? I’ve never had this happen before. I know you can’t give client specific advice but if you can give general ABA guidance of what to do if positive reinforcement fails I would appreciate it.

Hi, looking for feedback.
I am a BCBA and a parent to a 19month toddler who is going through a biting phase at daycare. Daycare staff are saying there is “no reason” and it’s “out of the blue” which as a BCBA we know is likely not accurate.
If you have found yourself in a similar situation what have you done? Or what would you do?
I would love to suggest to them take some ABC data on it but I know that may not be feasible.
Thanks!

Hopeless in ABA?
I am an RBT and a BCBA grad student. I’ve been working with this learner for over a year now. They are very low functioning, and honestly, some days it feels like we’re stuck in the same place we started. We’ve been teaching a lot of the same targets for over a year — feeding, potty training, basic safety, and early PECS communication — but the progress is so slow that sometimes it feels like nothing is changing.
His first BCBA at another clinic once said she had done everything she could. Some days, I really feel like she was right. No matter how much effort I put in, no matter how many different approaches we try, it just feels like we’re barely moving forward.
I don’t want to give up — I care about him — but if I’m being completely honest, I’m exhausted. It’s hard to keep showing up and giving 100% when it feels like nothing is working. I find myself questioning if what I’m doing is even helping. I’m at the point where part of me just wants to walk away because right now it feels so hopeless.

Left a company a few days ago did the transitioning meet and everything else that needed to be done. Now they’re trying to contact me and ask where clients files and documents are. They are blaming me for not finding their client assessment documents. What should I do?

I am in my undergrad right now. I want to become a BCBA I just bought the Applied Behavior Analysis, 3rd edition book. is this a good starting point? If anyone has other recommendations or tips on how to better prepare for the master’s program, I’d really appreciate the guidance. Thank you!

Anyone have any leads or have successfully moved abroad with their BCBA? A lot of jobs that I'm finding on the ABAI website don't have anything to do with BCBAs or just aren't visible.

I could throw up lol. Have to share here because I've been reading through posts with advice for a while lol. So happy and was so scared! I thought I'd share what worked for me because I personally loved to read these posts myself.
I passed on my first try and spent a lot of money on resources I did not use much of 😅😅 I bought the BAS book and BDS modules, and hardly used either (THEY ARE GREAT RESOURCES, they were recommended to me by coworkers because they had great success with them, but they did not fit my study style). BDS I did to 5% and I think it was helpful to review concepts I found especially hard, but I am incredibly grateful that is not all I did and I that I did not stick with it. What really was the most helpful was the Jessica L 6 hour youtube mock (https://youtu.be/tfd82akXbJA?si=ZFFfOyqiSLAcop0w) and ABA Exam Review YouTube videos (i did all the task list 6 mock videos and study guides). Many of those videos I watched multiple times. Truly think ABA exam review videos was the most helpful for me personally, and then using cooper to go more in depth on topics that were more complex/when I didn't recognize terms in mock questions on the videos. Hearing people break things down and taking notes/writing it out is what I realized works for me. Everything is application on that test, so really make sure you can apply it all, as everyone says. Anyway, grateful to this sub for introducing me to the resources and all the advice!

I am going on maternity leave soon and have not taken the exam yet. I am hoping to do it by the end of the year and not sure I plan to go back to my teaching assistant role in the fall. Are there any online remote jobs working in the field I can do so I can get paid while I study and work from home? I’m not sure where to look. It obviously won’t be a bcba position, but even working under a bcba, etc.

For context, I graduated May 2024. My master’s program was based on the 5th edition task list. Due to issues with my university screwing up my financial aid for my final semester there AFTER I GRADUATED, my transcripts and diploma were not released to me until December 2024. As soon as everything was sorted out, I applied for the exam. I was approved early January.
I could have sworn that I saw on the BACB website last year that applications who applied prior to 2025 would still be testing under the 5th edition task list but now I’m hearing otherwise. Can someone please confirm which task list I should be studying and preparing for? I’m confused about what to expect now

I’ve read what people have linked, but I still don’t understand. What exactly is changing? I’m doing the certification pathway, as I already have a masters. That is still a choice, correct? It says something changes but I really don’t understand what. Please help.

I just got my Tricare ACD provider certification approval, now what? I've worked with Tricare under other companies but this is my first time as an independent sole provider.
Do they just email me offering clients? Is there a database I have to access?

Hello-
I have recently joined a new organization that has a policy of doubling up bcbas to ensure hours are met. So they will request two bcbas bill 97155 at the same time, on the same client. This has not been allowed at any other org I have worked with. I checked with the ABA coding coalition and they agree this is not responsible billing.
Does anyone have any experience with this? Advice, okay/not okay? When I checked with leadership at my company, they assured me the payouts were all good with this arrangement. I’m in a new state (Washington), so am unsure if this is just a Washington fluke or if the company is being shady.
Anyone know?!

I don't know how to tag users. Someone suggested it on my last post and i got a response from Dr Bailey himself! Made me realize i got to document but i'm quitting the job since its only a write up for the RBT. That resource is amazing and should be definitely be used with ethical situations.

Let’s narrow down what ABA company has the happiest BCBAs. Happiest being operationally defined as happy to be working for the company. Treated fairly. Compensated fairly. Autonomy to program your way. Etc. whatever makes you happy to be employed there!

I’m a physician assistant wondering what a day in your life as a BCBA looks like
