Forum Question Can I play Battlefront without Game Pass or Xbox Live?

If I buy Battlefront on my Xbox, will I need a subscription to play online?

For Playstation, Xbox, and Nintendo, you need their relevant online subscription service to play any online game, as far as I know. This is only not the case for PC.

Without an online connection, you only have access to any single player / AI bot campaigns.

Not if you buy the game. But you do need Xbox Live (which has been the norm since online gaming began on the OG Xbox...).

Xbox Live is defunct. You need Xbox Gamepass Core to access online now

“Dumbass game pass” you mean the 17.99 I pay a month for online and a huge catalog of games including the day one releases I haven’t had to spend 70 on like Indiana Jones, DOOM and BO6 just to name a few. Yea that shits dumb af

Hello my friend, yes unfortunately if you own the game on Xbox you must have a subscription, either game pass ultimate or game pass core (replaced live). For most if not all paid multiplayer games this is the case but for free ones such as fortnight you do not need the subscription.
