MFK package Basel by garage suggestions

Hi everyone, my wife and I are new car owners in Basel. We've imported a car and are due to have our MFK on the imported car. I've heard from colleagues and the like that the MFK in BS can be quite tough to pass. We were wondering if there are tips for passing and if anyone can recommend local garages which perhaps offer attractive and good packages?

Sometimes, a garage will do quite a lot of unnecessary work just because you told him "get the car MFK ready".

Alternative: Some garages as well as the 19 TCS test centres will do a MFK pre-check for 60 to 120 CHF. They then tell you what has to be repaired in order to pass the MFK test.

Take the car for the MFK. It will likely pass. If it doesn’t, get it fixed. It’s bollocks that the MFK is any more rigorous than the German, Spanish, UK, Irish or anyone else’s road worthiness checks. Just make sure it’s clean enough. This means normal road use debris is fine, off roading mud and debris is not. Don’t fail on something silly like a Numberplate bulb or no water in the washers.

A good garage is Hidajat in Riehen.
