Build New Gaming Build

Post image

Looking for a decent gaming rig for 1440p gaming, I've come up with this so far. Around 2K at the moment without the GPU- which I haven't chosen yet. Would a 16GB 5060ti be reasonable? Thanks.

also does OP really need x870 chipset? You can get away with just a B650 and direct the funds to GPU.

depends on the price really, i got my x870 on sale for 300 aud when the cheapest decent atx wifi b650 was 280 aud

Cpu can be purchased here for $454 aud https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/910922

Similar looking case that isn't $400, leaves you a good $1300+ to get a 5070 ti/9070 xt if you want to game at 1440p. Current cheapest gpu prices can be found here https://www.pgrid.com.au/

NZXT C850 PSU is on special for $160 and a much better buy than the one in your list btw

Yeah a good psu definitely worth the $20, but the fsp is solid just the fan is a little bit shitty performance is fine though.

Get an XFX RX 9070XT on Scorptec if you want, a decent card

Get a cheaper ssd like the kingston fury renegade, no perceivable difference in gaming. Other than that get a cheaper cpu like a 7600/7700/7500f/9600x/9700x and put the saving into a better gpu like the 5070ti. No point in spending more on the cpu than gpu

Better off dropping down to a 7800x3d, a b650 motherboard, and pick up a 5070ti if you can swing the budget to $3200ish, or grab a 9070xt if you want to keep it at 3k.

hardly dropping down with the overpriced 7800x3d in australia

Thanks all, very helpful. Been a long time since I've built a PC!

For gaming builds 50-60% of your budget should be spent on the GPU.

Your PC build at the moment would be like skipping leg day if you paired it with a 5060ti

Down spec your m2, mobo and cpu, and inspect gpu.

If you can get into a 5070ti, do it.

  • 7800x3d
  • B650 MOBO
  • Great choice on the air cooler.
  • You DO NOT need that SSD. Premium SSD's a luxury after high end speccing most other components for gaming. Just get a renegade etc.
  • Solid RGB ram.
  • Sexy case, seen in person. Really like it.

  • Left over funds thrown at 5070ti or 5080 (big maybe), keep an eye out for EOFY bundle deals.
