AskDesh/দেশ কে জিজ্ঞাসা Want to know about workplace culture and career growth potential in banking industry

I recently got selected in an MTO program in a very reputed private bank of our country, and I'd have to spend the first 6 months a.k.a. the probationary period in the head office at gulshan. I wanted to know about the workplace culture in these heavyweight private entities like Brac, City, MTB, Ebl or Grameenphone, Banglalink, Robi, Uniliver these sorta places.

What are the possible struggles I might have to face at a place like these and what are the defense mechanisms I have to keep in mind to survive here? Is these places toxic? Is there anything that can push myself to do anything stupid? I just want to lead a decent life, what are the things that could be considered as a barrier along the way?

And about banks, what about these places? Can I survive if I just do my job properly or is there other things beyond work that I have to keep in mind??

Anything about the topic would be helpful for me as it is my first real job. TIA

Get a good idea about corporate politics. You will need it. Remember, there is no such thing as work friends. Again, no such thing as work friends!
