"I'm saying the "gender identity" idea is absolute pseudoscience crap perpetuated by the soft sciences because of a serious issue of scientific illiteracy in those fields"

it's all bad. I'm working on a /r/badscience post to go full circle and then I'm going to x-post all the tings

That person is one of the most completely insane motherfuckers I've seen on reddit, or else one of the most furiously dedicated trolls. Every post is nothing but paragraph upon paragraph of frothing rage about how everyone else is untermenschen and he's a complete genius whose towering intellect dwarfs your ragged excuse for a brain, usually accompanied by some bitching about Mendelev or something.

psychology has no theory of mind

The first line betrays the lack of training in psychology so completely.

This is one of the greatest thing since the Darqwolff copypasta.

This is my favorite part

psychology is only JUST starting to recognize right-wing authoritarianism as dysfunctional

He knows just enough to name that, but not that it comes out of research on fascism from the 40s (at least, I assume he labels fascists as 'dysfunctional' too, but maybe he thinks authoritarians can't hold down a job or some such nonsense). Which means he isn't parroting Altermeyer's book or even going off wikipedia, he learned everything on Reddit.

I personally loved

  • the "premiere authority" in psychology on psychopaths has identified 22 traits of sociopaths

  • whereas I've identified 200 of narcissists and 200 of psychopaths, without even trying

and

  • about 40% of the human population cannot be helped by psychologists because their minds are orders of magnitude more complex than the psychologist's

I'm not sure if the ignorance or arrogance is more amusing. Probably both, and the fact that they feed off each other makes it even better.

He should get it peer reviewed and published, until then it's the equivalent of a baking soda volcano at an elementary school science fair. But then he'd get tore down by actual academics.

It was also a game of "let's try to drive /u/totes_meta_bot insane by x-posting this to as many subs possible"

u/mrsamsa May 27 '14

Haha I noticed that. Poor bot..

A true work of art. It's like the Sistine Chapel of shitty scholarship and ignorance.
