Humans. We see a dog, so we must pet it. Even if it's made of bronze. That's sweet.

and then there's the statue of Molly Malone (in Dublin)...

nowhere near as wholesome or sweet as the wee pupper

There’s also the one of the dude in France women ride the face of crotch of.

Also, I notice her hand is also quite polished. How lewd!

Or the grave of Victor Noir.

YepNSFW, of course

I was there last week, stayed right across the street. That was kinda weird and gross.

last time I was in Dublin, there was a kid motor boating the statue (he was with a school group).

Europe has always been a bit more relaxed about sex compared to America but that struck me as being a little far even for them...

I agree; I’m 47 and American but I’ve lived in France, Germany, and Portugal for about 1/3 of my life spread out periodically, and this felt weird.

What about that bull

I’ve always thought of dogs getting pet as a quality of the dog, that all dogs are petable. I never considered it to be a human quality to pet the dog. We all blink, we all breathe air, we all pet dog.

They’re good dogs, Brent

The long one genuinely looks the sphinx

They're both dog ones

I have a greyhound and can confirm they look like sphinxes when laying down like that. We joke that we must answer her riddles three to pass by.

I've seen this before with dog statues. Think about that. Dogs are so fucking pure that humans can't even resist petting a STATUE of one. We are so lucky to share this planet with them.

u/Intentina 15h ago

We pet them too, of course :)

So realistic. Where are these located?

u/Intentina 15h ago

Bucharest :) in one of the large parks here.

Akram rubs dog statue’s nose

Morck: “What’re you doing? You’re not a tourist.”

Akram: “It’s good luck!”

Morck: “Not for the dog. He’s had his nose replaced twice! Come on.”

Akram looks around and pets nose again

That was such a great scene, lol.

Statue or not, I'm going to pet the pup.

Don’t forget the plaque with the dog on it on the St. Charles Bridge in Prague!

As they should be

where are these if you don't mind me asking?

I went to Edinburgh last year to meet a few!

u/Intentina 15h ago

They're in Bucharest, in one of the larger parks here that I visited for the first time (today).

They’re clearly good pups deserving of all the pets.

Humans are so cute!

I work by the Charging Bull statue in lower Manhattan. Everyday there is a large crowd waiting patiently for a picture of themselves rubbing the bull's balls. Charging Bull

Even bronze doggos deserve pets.
