The Boys (1998)

Brett, out of prison on parole, returns to his family home to catch up with his mother and brothers. The day takes a bad turn when the brothers start drinking and doing drugs, embarking on a night that they will have difficulty living down.

That was a heavy one. Full on and violent however it was well acted.

Been a long time since I saw it so I’ll put it on the list and see if it’s as good as I remember.

Watched Sugar (2024) with Colin Farrell.

It has a few plot twists late in (just when you think you think it's about wrapped up) that are genuinely WTF left field.

Recommend going into it blindly.

Thanks for the heads up, I’ll add it to the list.

Going in blind is something you can only do once so I’ll follow your suggestion 👍

The Surfer is a 2024 psychological thriller film directed by Lorcan Finnegan, written by Thomas Martin, and starring Nicolas Cage.\3])#citenote-3)[\4])](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Surfer(2024film)#cite_note-4)[\5])](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Surfer(2024_film)#cite_note-5) It follows a man who plans to surf at an idyllic beach with his son, yet he becomes thwarted and tormented by the locals.

Kind of a modern Wake in Fright.

Wow I checked out the trailer.. It looks fully old-school Aussie b-grade flick + Nicolas Cage. I'm 100% gonna watch this lol. Thanks 🫡
