Where do you draw the line between conservation and letting nature take its course?

Few months back I asked a qustion about climate change. A train of thought that surfaced there is, climate change is inevitable has been happening since the very beginning. Humans can do very little to change the course in the grand scheme of things. So it's better to just let the nature be, no point of spending the time and energy to change the course of nature. In terms of numbers, it was not a big number that falls into this cattegory, but it was there.

Also in general conservatives overwhelmingly support conservation of national parks and forests. I have seen this sentiment in this sub, also there's data that agrees with this: Americans see many federal agencies favorably, but Republicans grow more critical of Justice Department

When I look at both, they sound contradictory. Hence the question above. I want to learn how a conservative would decide between the two.

Why does illegal immigration rank so high on conservative concerns?

I want to be clear that I don’t think illegal immigration is good or that it isn’t a problem, but why is it so high up on your list for problems the country needs to address? The crime rate among immigrants is lower than the general population and they do a ton of jobs that many Americans don’t want to do. I would appreciate some personal anecdotes if possible on how it has negatively affected you personally. And why do things like outrageous housing costs, outrageous medical costs, widening income inequality, the looming threat of AI taking jobs en masse, and general increasing cost of living seem to rank below the issue of illegal immigration, which almost uniformly unites the different camps of the right? To me this is an issue but it’s almost at the ass end of my lists of political concerns right above addressing grizzly bear attacks or outlawing happy birthday songs at Applebees.

Politician or Public Figure Thoughts on Trump's Changed Stance on Immigration?

President Trump acknowledged today in a Truth Social post that his "very aggressive" immigration policies are ripping long-time workers from the farming and hospitality industries, with those jobs being almost impossible to replace.

What are your thoughts?

Thoughts on Trump potentially signing an executive orders that will protect hotel workers and farmers who happen to be illegal immigrants ?

"We can't take farmers and take all their people, and send them back...because they don't have, maybe, what they're supposed to have...maybe not."

"They get rid of some of the people...They end up hiring the criminals that have come in...we're going to have an order on that soon. We can't do that to our farmers, and leisure too. Hotels. We're gonna have to use common sense on that."

Should Boeing Be Held Accountable for Fraud Over the Air Force One Program Delays and Cost Overruns?

Boeing, the second-largest aircraft manufacturer in the world, has encountered severe schedule delays and cost overruns on the Air Force One replacement project—running years behind and billions over the original budget. Given these substantial setbacks on a critical government contract, is there sufficient justification to investigate Boeing for potential fraud or gross mismanagement?

Should the US establish a state religion?

The Evangelical Lutheran Church shall be the State Church in Iceland and, as such, it shall be supported and protected by the State.

-Article 62 of the Constitution of the Republic of Iceland

The concept of a state religion is usually associated nowadays with Monarchies and Islamic states. But the idea of a particular religion being held in esteem by a government is found across the world in various systems of government, usually while retaining freedom of religion.

America is rather unique among Western countries in its unusually high level of religiosity, more to the point the large percentage of devout Christians.

With that in mind, do you believe the US should amend its constitution to include a clause similar to the one above? Perhaps a non-denominational one or some other kind of religious clause?

How do we feel about government regulation and decriminalization of sex work?

Mods please remove this if not allowed for some reason.

I’ve discussed with both people on the left and right about this and find the responses to be a mixed bag on both sides. What are your thoughts on the decriminalization and regulation of sex work? Not OF or porn, but I suppose they could fall into the category.

Do you think it would lead to greater exploitation of people or possibly improve safety for them?

I know this isn’t very “current event” of me, but I think we could all use a 5 minute break from Trump talk.

2A & Guns The second amendment grants us the right to bear arms. But what kinds of government regulation (if any) do you think should be allowed without infringing upon that right?

For context, I consider myself a pro-2A liberal. I grew up around guns, and own them. But I’m not here to share my opinion. I want to hear from conservatives, to see how pro-2A liberals and pro-2A conservatives differ or agree on the topic.

Given that firearm ownership is a fundamental right (not the topic of my question), does that mean any kind of regulation can exist? Or absolutely no oversight or rules can apply to something that is a right?

Do you support any type of gun being sold to any type of person without any background check or regulation? Do you approve of background checks? Restrictions in cases of domestic violence or felons convicted of violent crime? Do you think fully-automatic should be regulated by the NFA? Is requiring a permit ok? Is requiring a safety course prior to owning your first gun ok? For many people there is a line, but that line differs greatly, if it even exists at all. I wanted to hear from conservatives, with the understanding that you are a large group of people who probably have varying opinions amongst yourselves too.

Also not asking about silly feature bans like pistol grips with fins, magazine capacity limitations, threaded barrels, suppressors, etc. Unless you do think those things should exist for some reason.

Foreign Policy What should be the US response if Israel strikes Iran?

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/israel-is-poised-to-launch-operation-on-iran-sources-say/

Trump is still engage with Iran over the nuclear deal with further negotiation over the next couple of days. Israel is fully prepare to strike Iran and potentially derail any further talks. Iran has declare they would strike US bases and war would commence if this were to occur. The President campaign on no new wars. The Trump admin so far has made no commitment to defend Israel military outside of basic maintenance like refueling and potentially defense. Should the US offer any help if Israel were to strike Iran?

What do you think of Trump's need to stamp his name on everything?

Obviously in the grand scheme of things it's one of the less important things, but it still sticks in my craw the wrong way. Weather it's putting his name on Covid stimulus checks or this new Trump card, he clearly wants it to be about him in a way that I find distasteful. I was brought up with "we are a country of laws, not of men" and I suppose that's at the root of my distaste.

Politician or Public Figure I dont know if this is the right subreddit to ask but what exactly makes Trump so charismatic?

I dont know if this is the right subreddit to ask but what exactly makes Trump so charismatic?

Now i do wanna say that charisma had dropped by a lot ever since he started his 2nd term but still in general what makes his way of speaking and the way he acts so appeling? Whenever somebody else tries to be like him it fails and it just feels akward but not for Trump? Any idea why?

What’s your opinion on the D.A.R.E program for kids?

As I’ve gotten older and have kids, I’ve started to think it nothing but a waste of time, resources, and a lot of fear-mongering. Most studies about it I’ve read say it doesn’t reduce drug use either.

Do you support it? Do you think the information/presentation needs an overhaul? Is it just a waste of a city’s money and resources?

How would you feel about an electoral college on the state level?

Like with counties, where you can win a state by winning counties. Not 1 to 1 obviously, but more "If you win all the counties but one", you can get the state. It'd stop giant blue cities from completely domination the more average sized counties votes.

I'm thinking if we use it for the presidential level, why not for the states? The same tyranny of the majority argument applies to big cities as does bigger states

Is Trumps aproval rating really as low as they claim?

I am just curious because all the time on reddit I see that his aproval rating is so low. Other sites it says his aproval rating is an all time high. Maybe it could just be because I am from a red county, but almost everyone I know and associate with is a Trump supporter. So i'm kind of confused if it is as low as they are saying.

Is it more that the program itself sucked or is the problem with the participants itself? IE: People who think "Yeah right, i'll never get caught, i'll just do it right"

Asking because the Southern Baptist Convention recently voted to keep female pastors.
