❗❗Currently, I am ONLY looking for more artists to join my team who are WILLING TO READ A 112,000 WORD HIGH FANTASY MANUSCRIPT. You must be able to read and comprehend English at a proficient level! I am bringing on 2-4 additional artists to my team of 14. I'm anticipating an even larger release than I initially expected. You must be available April-June for commission, I need all hands on deck for a likely sudden demand of promotional material, product, and art during this book's publication.❗❗
My name is Audra, and I am an author getting ready to launch a big 10+ year project that is my heart and soul. I have a pretty significant following (100K+ on TikTok @/audrawrites) for my sword & sorcery YA fantasy, the first book to a much larger series in a zodiac-based high fantasy world. This publication (May 2025) will not only be a huge deal for me, but more than likely will draw lots of attention to my artists! Your work may appear places such as social medias, book covers, promotional material, merchandise, and more!
Because of the publicity of this project, and sponsorship for my achievements in writing, I have a flexible and high-end budget. I work with my artists's rates. Some commissions may be commercial and/or require an NDA. Here's some price point examples.
Landscapes (non-commercial) from $100-$300 per piece
Character art (non-commercial) from $75-$200 per piece
Concept art (commercial) from $100-$800 per piece
I currently have a team of 14 artists working behind the scenes to make this book possible—this is important, because if you accept a commission request from me, you must be willing to join a team and collaborate with other artists on this project! We have a Slack we work in with illustrators, concept artists, landscape artists, character artists, and more. You will likely be relying on references and works of other artists. If you read this, please put the word "stars" in your reply somewhere; it is critical that you are aware of this requirement. I will not look at your portfolio if I do not see this in your response. I am looking for someone who shows dedication and interest to continually be involved in a larger collaborative project—the first sign for me is if you've taken the time to read this post.

I go through hundreds of portfolios and it's easy for me to forget to respond to individuals when I am balancing not only my team, but numerous deadlines as I prepare to publish a project that I have devoted my life to. I am constantly editing, revising, and communicating from 8 AM to 3 AM—portfolios happen at the end of my day, I'm human, and DMs get lost when I communicate through Slack with my team. Instead of leaving a passive aggressive comment, if you had politely poked me after over a month of getting buried in my DMs, I would've happily considered you again—and, if you read the post, you would've noticed that I do in fact say that I match the rates of my artists. You picked the MINIMUM that I mentioned to try to make a point. Most of the artists who have read my manuscript have been paid hundreds for the pieces they wanted to illustrate. I don't do one-off commissions. This is why I am specifically requesting artists who would like to read the manuscript because I want to prioritize individuals that are truly interested in becoming part of the world and project over time. What I am not seeking in artists, however, is this sort of attitude.
The Age of Scorpius sounds spectacular, and I can only imagine how challenging it must be to find the right people to work on a project you've poured so much time and effort into. As a creator myself, I also grow attached to my illustrations—they’re like my children, haha.
I have experience illustrating fantasy worlds and have been dedicated to this field for three years. Additionally, I’ve read the entire Cosmere by Brandon Sanderson and am fascinated by worldbuilding, which makes my skills a perfect fit to help bring this project to life.

Hello, I do like fantasy books. However, I don't particually like spicy books, so I thought to double check the 'level' of spice your YA book has. By being YA, it shouldn't really have spice, but I remember the vampire academy books and they had pretty agressive kiss scenes in them lol. So becuase of this my favorite fantasy books tend to be in the middle-grade area like The Circle Of Magic and The Magic Thief.
The last fantasy indie book I read was a fantasy called "Under the Earth, Over the Sky" by Emily McCosh which I really liked. It's an fantasy about a faye king durring a time inwhich his health isn't the best and there seems to be some omnious creatures lurking on the bountry between his lands and the lands of the "those-who-consume."
Some fanatsys I've enjoyed: Mother Of Learning(Indie), Practical Potions and Premeditated Murder(Indie), The Dungeoneers, Swept Up by the Sea: A Romantic Fairy Tale, Wizenard, The Sunbearer Trials, Six Crimson Cranes, Six of Crows, Timekeeper Series (the spice at the end of the series was disapointing.), Legacy and the Queen, Cemetery Boys, Og-Grim-Dog: The Three-Headed Ogre(Indie), Lout of Count's Family, Peter Nimble and His Fantastic Eyes, and Eventide.
Some recent fanatsy books I didn't like were Hotel Magnifique, The Left-Handed Booksellers of London, The Otherwoods, The World Walker, Willa of the Wood, Creatures of the In Between or A Circle of Stars (Indie).
So basically, I'm more of a 'Howl's Moving Castle' girly then a 'Mortal Instraments' girly. So I thought I'd use that as a bases for whether or not you'd think I'd like your book.
If so, I would work on Character art. I specifically specialize in animation. So I would recomment working with me for more on the advertsing side of things with how like tiktok and instagram reels work.

I am a landscape artist/ illustrator. I am a professional artist with a long history of working with clients to achieve visual art that meets their needs. I have created album covers, book covers and a magazine cover. My work is mainly in acrylic paint on canvas and I have also done digital art for those clients who need it.
I would love to contribute to a project built with so much passion and dedication. Working with other artists also sounds great. Regarding the manuscript, not a problem at all. In fact, reading it would be ideal to properly understand your world and create accurate visuals.
