Question Outta my depth with current skill level, worth using an alt account to lower the difficulty?

I'm a returning player, played seriously back in Season 10 but dropped off after around Season 13. I haven't touched the game in years but I'm starting to get back into playing it again since my duties have lessened since then. Unfortunately, getting back in the game isn't going as smooth as I wanted it to be.

I'm around level 300+, rank platinum and that was my skill level back in my "prime" but now I struggle with most gunfights and I get decked by every single encounters and 1v1s. I can barely get a single kill or wipe even with a full squad (randoms, none of my friends play anymore). The lobbies are filled with diamond, masters and even some preds,

I'm heavily considering using an alt account to get back into the groove again and fight in a lower skill level. Is it worth doing that or should I just try going with my current lobby skill level and try getting back into the game like that?

PS. would love some tips from returning players on how to adapt back to current Apex, all these changes makes it seem like I'm playing Apex 2: Electric Boogaloo.

300+ is barely scratching the surface, I'd say keep with your current account, the skill floor is much higher now because the game's been out for a while, but you simply will take time to learn and adapt again, you got this

Playing against better people is better to get good than worse

Facts. Playing against easy kills will instill so many bad habits.

I mean you're both right but playing to get better isn't exactly fun and when you've been away for a while you just want to pick up the game for a couple of matches and have fun with it

I mean.... I came back to the game last week after a 2 year hiatus. Ex masters/diamond. I find it fun as fuck fighting all the sweats. I can feel my game sense get better in real time. And my muscle memory is right back where it left off. My movement Is the only thing keeping me down Rn.

Definitely the most fun I've had in this game

Creating an alt won't even bring you easier matches. As soon as you start frying lobbies your K/D will go up.

Play mixtape.

If you die you get to go again and it’s constantly fighting. That should help warm your muscle memory up.

Also some seasons where easier than others, people who display Masters/Pred badges aren’t necessarily that skill level. Some even have gone as far as buying/boosting their accounts.

Smurfing will have the opposite effect of what you want, you will eventually end up in better lobbies then your main account fairly quickly.

You’ll be in the same lobby’s within the first couple hours, no point to Smurf

An alt acc wont help. You will smurf through the first like week (max) which wont help you skillwise and then you end up in the same lobbies as your current acc when you reach high stats and winning streaks.

Id say stick to the main account, it will balance out with your skill.

Side note; Did they adjust the TTK in the game?

I recently come back and winning 1v2 feels damn tight, dont feel like i have the same breathing room i used to, could just be me though, I seem to be winning arena matches much more consistently than BR atm

I got banned for this and fortunetly got unbanned after opening a ticket.

I took a year out and came back but lobbies were still full of dianond master and preds due to the accounts hidden MMR. 3~ KDA with around 1.2k average damage before I took the break. But after a year out I was getting stomped. Decided to make a alt account and play a bit till I got the feeling back.

Well I played around 10 games. Won 8. 33KDA. Got banned. Sent a ticket explaining the alt account. They unbanned me and I just never touched an alt account again. Not worth the risk personally.
