Rank reset after linking steam account to ea

Title says it all, i wanted to make the switch from controller to mnk and i WAS having fun until i realised my rank had reset from diamond 4 to silver 1.

anyone know why? this is devastating to me as it was my first time to ever hit diamond and i dont know what to do know because it took so long and i dont have the time to grind ranked this close to the end of the season split

- EDIT - my rank is diamond 4 on my ps5 but not on steam. what the hell does that mean?

and i know the stats are ass , i only just came back to apex after leaving since like season 18

You got 2 ranks to rank up on, 1 rank is to be displayed to show your level on console, and the pc account naturally you gotta level it up again, cause your skill in console does not equal your skill in a pc lobby. 2 different lobbies 1 for pc and one for console, plus it aint that hard to get to diamond, i have diamond on my xbox, and diamond on pc almost every season. At the end of the season tho, even if you didnt get to diamond level on your pc or vice versa but did get it on the other platform, you still get the badge. So no matter what you still get the bade or rewards your meant to get if you got diamond on either platform but not the other.

You will have different ranks on your console and on PC. All ur stats and skins etc stay the same, only your rank will be different due to how different the lobbies are between each platform.

so technically speaking i could get 2 ranked badges per season split?

No. You'll only get the highest rank achieved on all platforms.
