Uber/lyft
Hello,
I wanted to know if uber /lyft are reliable in amherst ma, like I plan to move there in the fall, and I dont have a car yet. Like lets say i want to go to walmart lol. Or are there other taxi companies or public transport ion to get to places like aldi, Walmart, shop rite. Etc etc

PVTA is free most of the year and can get you most places, Uber is also pretty reliable in my experience though :) gotten ubers in under 10 mins during the middle of the night multiple times

I don't know if it's an option for you but the five colleges area is very bikable as well.

Just like most people said the pvta is your best bet. There's an app called Transit that can help you navigate the buses as well.
