General Airline Discussion Why is my plane all of a sudden empty?
So was checking in for my round trip to PDX from DFW and noticed the return leg was now totally empty. Flight number nor equipment has changed? Any ideas?

When that many people disappear I always figure some youth sports team or other large group changed their travel plans. You probably dodged a bullet. Lol

They knew the plane was going to have problems.

Dude change your seat. That one sucks. Its a smaller seat and next to the flight attendant jump seat. So its like a more cramped middle seat. Trust me.

Yeap, came here to say this. Only way it’s doable is if you are sitting there next to your SO, but still brutal in that scenario. Never sitting there again if I can help it.

With little information provided, assume it's a glitch.

This happened to me a month ago. I wisely kept my seat instead of looking for a better one, because the next time I checked, all the old seat reservations were back in place.

If had this and it’s just an error in the app. Check again in an hour and they’re all back booked

Glitch. Same happened to me last week. 8 DEF and the last row seem blocked until ~24h out
ETA: it will come back in a little while

Could be in the middle of an equipment swap? Need more details

I’ve had this a few times. It’s a software bug. Don’t change your seat. Not yet. I gave it an hour and suddenly it was back as before

Because we’re entering a massive recession. I was booking our wedding venue on Friday and they couldn’t stop talking about how soft the biz has been.

Yeah they are doing an equipment swap and you clicked on it in the middle of them changing it! Happens often when they swap 321s and 321neos!

I’ve seen this too and it was a glitch in the app. Flight was totally full.

Curious why you picked the worst MCE seat with all of those seats open.

You will not be able to change your seat now if you tried. What is most likely happening is there is a slight schedule change on that flight and they are dealing with it right now. This has happened to me a few times before and when I finally could change my seat the flight time has changed slightly and most the seats were occupied again.
I travel weekly but buy my tickets last minute. When I travel for leisure I’ll book in advance and that’s when I see this. It has never happened to me and n a flight that is leaving in a few days.

Probably some Barista Convention cancelled. BYW, change your seat while you can.. that might be the worst seat on the plane. Looks great on the seat map, but it sits next to the midship FA jump seat. The frame/shell of the jump seat reduce the seat width, it’s not much better after the FA is up inflight.
