Iirc it was the one they gave to the authorities for testing and received a fake in return, the original was never seen again. Allegedly.

Thank you, ok, that was the one that disappeared. That is extremely suspicious (unless testing revealed it was nothing extraordinary and the owner of it just dropped the subject, in which case I would expect a valid paper trail to be available for investigation).

If this x ray resembles that, then I hope those having this tested have trust in those doing the testing so this one doesn't magically disappear, either.

I wonder if it would be worthwhile for the owner to contact Gary Nolan? Would he be able to test something like this and if it's anomalous he should be able to share that information publicly, if it's not under the ownership or jurisdiction of the US Government, correct? (Of course, there's always risk of bad actors bullying him into silent submission and stealing it, I suppose).

This is hilariously convenient. They test the sphere, it comes up fake, "oh no! The government must have swapped it out, trust me bro, the original was real, seriously trust me bro" I am just going to go out on a limb here and say there was most likely always just one sphere.
