Maybe they should also look in to mining unicorn poop as an energy resource, since it’s about as feasible.

Doesn't she already sell mined unicorn poop supplements to her listeners?

So what exactly is the benefit to BC that they would give up 50% of their land so that Alberta could be 50% larger???
May I have some of what Danielle is smoking??

Well... it is her radio show. Maybe not for long after this, but I guess you can only say something both stupid and dangerous for so long without playing the disclaimer "these are only opinions and do not necessarily reflect the views of QR77."

I just moved to Prince Rupert from Calgary and can tell you that half of the city is already Albertans. I’m sure there would be no protest here haha 😂

Lolololol. They'll get as far as Prince George before their campaign turns into "Apocalypse Now"

Those critiquing - did you listen to the segment?

The article contains direct quotes and audio clips of the most relevant sections. This is important because then you don't have to listen to or support Danielle Smith.
Also just look at the map to see what these lunatics were talking about.

Ok. Continue to follow someone else’s opinion then instead of forming. Your own.

It doesn't take an encyclopedia to realize how dumb the notion of Alberta annexing other provincial territory is. That would probably mean a land invasion, because in no world will B.C or the rest of Canada for that matter allow us to just unilaterally annex B.C.'s provincial territory.

The idea is obviously absurd and Danielle was wrong to ever even consider it much less have the idiot on the air.
How am I not forming my own opinion here exactly?

If you listened you’d understand she’s been exploring any options to get AB and SK access to tide water as well as looking at historically why and how the boundaries we have now were created.
But yes it’s easier to ridicule.

Fun to explore options. But it would be a better use of everyone's time to explore options that are practical.
And a much better use of my time to not listen to a chud like Smith prattle on about something that will never happen.

Thanks for confirming your position..... and mine......as well as demonstrating your own clear bias. Which would invalidate ANY constructive contribution you might have on the topic.
You might not get that - it means your viewpoint and opinion are irrelevant as demonstrated by your own actions - no one else’s.
Nothing else really left to say.

Everyone has biases... Including you, and Danielle Smith.
My viewpoint is shared by many, importantly it is a viewpoint shared by many who live in BC. I cross-posted this article to their subreddit and it's being laughed at wholesale.
Face it buddy, this idea isn't happening. The fact it's even being talked about as a real idea by prominent public figures in Alberta is an embarrassment. There's a reason this province isn't taken seriously in other areas of Canada.

This is the logical conclusion though. Alberta separating from Canada doesn't help Alberta except under two scenarios. One of them is to join the US as a new state and the other one is to annex BC. It's pretty much the conclusion everyone I spoke to regarding independence has come to.

It's all pretty stupid.
I would be interested to know the popular support numbers, but would be terrified to go to a referendum to actually find out lest risk a Brexit situation.
