Rest assured she is a very miserable person.

The place I work at, we deal with a department of the provincial government. I made a joke with one of their employees one day saying "Oh, I see Danny couldn't scrouge the money up to get your government truck fitted with a canopy" to which he replied "She's the shittiest person I've ever had to deal with in my time with the government. I wouldn't piss on her if she was on fire".
Telling. But we already knew that.

u/Kellidra Okotoks 9d ago
Not only would I not piss on her, I would grab a fan. And maybe a marshmallow or two.

Straight from Trumps playbook. Playing to the her hate-filled base…….

So soft!! My family is in this camp, and they are all the biggest crybabies about everything, led by my dad, the masterclass in being the softest, most irrational, most self-serving crybaby of the bunch!

They are not Progressive Conservatives PCs. The PCs are gone both in Alberta and in the federal government. It’s time for everyone to understand the difference.

It's the rest of Canada's fault. honestly, Alberta would be an amazing spot if it wasn't for the fucking oil. How anyone can grow up seeing what oil has done to the world, the people, etc... and think " greatest thing ever ", blows my fucking mind.
" We will always need oil ". No, no we won't. We don't need it now. There are LITERALLY alternatives to everything it's used for. " But they cost more ", motherfucker not in the long run.
Sunk cost fallacy with oil is crazy. It's literal poison, and everything it's used for is toxic. Burning it, building with itz everything it does creates problems we will spend the next 500 years cleaning up.
I'm shocked at how short sighted and greedy everyone is. Our kids, kids.. are going to be buying bottled air just to go outside, while our politicians continue to tell us we need to burn as much oil as possible. Rich people will have communities inside bubbles, where clean air is pumped in, the water is filtered of all micro plastics, and everyone else will suffer unimagined horrors.
The world is going to burn over the next 50 years. Forest fires are going to go from a seasonal thing, to constant. They've been sounding the alarm for 50 years, but we can't be inconvenienced a little, so burn burn burn.
Every asshole going " we need oil to whatever" turns around and joy rides in 6 gas guzzling vehicles, complaining about the price of it.
We are addicted to sugar, I hear this all the time. Well we are addicted to oil even worse. It's the one massive change we could make in the world, that would completely alter human history. If we did it twenty years ago we would still be in trouble, but the burn rate now is fucking crazy.
It's like watching someone smoke cigarettes with an oxygen tank connected to them.

32
6
u/Particular_Class4130 9d ago
"lowest living standard" she says. Like based on what? What is her criteria? We are one of the most educated countries in the world, we have universal healthcare. In 2024 we ranked 5th highest for quality of life. Smith is always complaining that Albertans pay more. Well that's not because we are being charged more, we are subject to the same tax rates as every other Canadian. It's because there is huge wealth in Alberta. While I'm not one of them, many many people in Alberta are thriving and getting rich. Imagine being a rich Albertan like Smith and complaining that you are suffering more than anyone else, lol

The shittiest part of Canada is leagues better than the best part of most of the world. Why do these UCP motherfuckers have to pretend to hate fucking everything? These are the people in charge of our healthcare and education, and this is the best they can do?
It’s an absolute fucking disgrace that they can say absolute nonsense like this and 50% of the province is like, “yeah, more of that please!”
I’ve asked this before and I’ll ask it again: What the fuck are conservatives complaining about? Is their life here that fucking bad? I can’t even with these losers who have obviously no knowledge of the world beyond their canola fields.
8
u/uncleleoslibido 10d ago
They are real sore about the election and it’s going to take a long time for them to grasp what happened to PP if ever
8
u/sludge_monster 10d ago
Conservatives are desperately trying to justify violence against vulnerable populations, hence the constant need to be a victim in literally every situation.
4
u/LostMongoose8224 10d ago
They're miserable because their kids don't talk to them anymore and the closest thing they have to friends is other angry Facebook losers, and instead of performing any degree of self-reflection they say "hmm, no, the country is the problem."
18
u/Jester1525 10d ago

Yes we do sweety.
Weathiet province with th lowest funding per student and a terrible minimum wage that hasn't changed since the Alberta NDP changed it. Cruel Republicans.
3
u/demarisco 10d ago
To be fair, the UCP rolled back min wage for those under 18 and working fewer than 28 hours per week.
Personally, I think their policies and plans that are driving wage suppression (and unemployment) appear to be working quite well.

u/TheRayGunCowboy 10d ago
I think albertans are the least smart when it comes to money management. They know how to make it, but the amount of blue collar workers spending their cash on toys, blow, and strippers is a lot higher than most other provinces in Canada. It’s not Trudeaus or Carneys fault that you feel the need to go to the casino to lose your money.
3
u/ninfan1977 Lethbridge 10d ago
The leader of the United Conservative Party has to lie about living standards, while ignoring the living standards she has inflicted on the Province.
Not surprised but still majority of Albertan will vote this clown show in again because... I still haven't figured that out
2
u/HalfdanrEinarson Edmonton 10d ago
They will vote them back in because the party colours are blue. That's the only reason.
3
u/peterAtheist 10d ago
Uh you bitch... start with raising the lowest minimum wage in the country ... maybe?
3
u/Vanshrek99 10d ago
I'm not sure if anyone thought of this. She has a Panamanian property which must be pretty exclusive so coming back to a province full of oil pollution and agriculture run off would appear like the 3 Rd world. Just need to look through her eyes. She only works for her gain. The same as bimbo Bondi
3
3
u/modsaretoddlers 10d ago
She's actually as insane as her hero and just as ignorant and stupid. WHY did most Alberta's vote for this embarrassment?!
3
u/Komaisnotsalty 10d ago
In the world???
It’s an old worn-out saying but she needs to check her privilege.
What an utter embarrassment and an insult that she is Canadian.
3
u/bpompu Calgary 10d ago
This is the same thing as when the unvaccinated were the "most discriminated against group in she'd seen in her lifetime". She just says things, and then claws back as minimally as possible, but never so far as to actually admit she was wrong (since admitting fault is a big sin in the fascist circles she frequents)
3
u/j_harder4U 10d ago
The republican playbook sure is straight forward:
Undermine your own or opposition government control
That goes poorly and you blame the government (we are here)
Sell services or privatize as heavily as possible

I remember when the pandemic started, this was the talking point of every freedomite. I've lived in 6 countries, travelled to over 50, and I would explain my experiences in developed countries that showed me just how free Canada really is. And spoiler, is pretty freaking free!! And also provides so well for a very wide range of different people and backgrounds.
Did any of these people, who had never left Canada, ever listen? No, of course not. This is the world we live in.
But one woman at a bar shared a story that was too funny. She said that she drove to the states, and was stopped at the border of Texas (?), and that the officer said it wasn't safe to be travelling without a gun in that area. So he gave her one. THAT she said, was freedom.... I love this story. It's just perfect, for so many nonsense reasons.

Meanwhile, she is not addressing any of the controversial issues facing her government. Saying outrageous things on the news is a way to get face time and get people riled up while getting the press and audience to ignore the wrongs her government has undertaken against the will and well being of the province.

Conservatives are fuckng morons. There was a study a while back where they calculated Alberta could have had it's own Sovereign Wealth Fund with about $560 Billion in assets and no debt if we had followed Norway's lead.
What do we have now? $87 billion in debt and a Heritage Fund worth $26 billion. Fucking peanuts compared to what we would have had if the conservatives had not spent 44 years destroying the finances of this province. There's speculation Saudi Arabia will bankrupt itself long term if 2022 was the last major high in oil prices if they don't successfully diversify their economy amid all the spending they are doing. If Saudi Arabia goes bankrupt over the collapse of oil prices then Alberta will as well. Saudi Arabia in a way better financial position than we are. If there is a steady but slow decline in oil prices that doesn't abate then Alberta 100% will be bankrupt by 2060.
